Suzie,

If you've got the bug for Egypt - go for it.....

Where are you likely to be staying in Luxor, does it tell you?

We fly out to Egypt on Monday evening and will be taking a route from our home in Cyprus - first to Cairo to change planes for the short flight to Aswan. We have 4 nights there and then 3 nights cruising to Luxor plus an extra 2 nights in Luxor. Finally, we are taking the overnight sleeper train to Cairo to spend our last few hours there before flying back to Cyprus.

It's our 5th time to Egypt and our 4th to Luxor! But this is the first time we've done the cruise.

Best of luck

Hi Im flying to Luxor by myself and staying on ms magic - nile cruise for 3 nights and doing an excursion package- Im then staying in luxor for one night at the sofia something or other and then flying home from cairo

What are the temperatures like and any tips for a woman travelling on her own. Im 35 and packed tops that will cover my arms and below the knee trousers and skirts. Im a little nervous as I booked on the spur of the moment. Im engaged and just want to enjoy the sightseeing. I havent a lot of money for tips either as the trip cost me an arm and a leg. Im wondering what small tips are advisable

A friend of mine has done Luxor several times alone - usually a weeks cruise then a week at the Movenpick on Crocodile Island. She loves it.

Being on the cruise makes it better if you are alone as you get to see the same faces and you never know, someone may be doing the same itinerary as you so you will not be alone as such.

My friend tends to eat either at the hotel in the evening or - goes out around the shops around 6pm and then eats before 8pm and goes back to the hotel to read and relax.

Shopping and walking around is not too bad although you may get asked where your husband is - if they see you on your own a lot. Tell them he is joining you in a couple of days......
