Has anybody been flashed by the alleged speed cameras on the coast road - I've just come back from a short break in Benalmadena/Fuengirola and used the coast road out to Marbella every day. I saw signs for cameras but didn't see any and was not flashed ?
What happens if you get flashed in a spanish hire car as the hire company have my details via the copy of my licence they took.
I'm not sure if they can give you points on a UK licence and does anyone know what the fines are like ?
Has naybody had previous experience of this for guidance ?
I think you'll find somewhere on the terms and conditions of hire that you are responsible for all the fines incurred by traffic offences. Not sure about the points on licence perhaps an ex pat can help there.
some of the spanish authority's will chase the fine with a debt collection agency in the UK, quite common now, also the new transport act due next year I believe will allow pan european penalty points that will apply in all member states, so if you get them in spain they will still go on your Uk licence
