Hi, I've just booked some flights for me and my finance to Alicante, we arrive on Saturday (19th) morning and are staying for 7 nights.
I have only ever been to Spain all-inclusive before, so I need some tips.
Airport transfer is Resorthoppa the best option ?, and would they drop me off / collect me at my accommodation ?
Accommodation - looking for somewhere near restaurant's, cafe's & bars. Also need to be close to the beach.
I presume there is ATM's at the airport ?
What's the weather like at the moment ?
Thanks
Alicante Airport topic. A private transfer will drop you off at your accommodation, a shared transfer may drop you off at your accommodation or perhaps somewhere close by in the neighbourhood.
For weather news and links, or webcam views so that you can check out current conditions for yourself, take a look at our Weather Q&As topic.
As for accommodation, there could be quite a lot of options to consider which are near to restaurants, bars, beach, etc. Have you any other preferences, such as hotel or self catering, which may help narrow down those options for you ?

Hi stuthejag .... Resorthoppa is certainly not the only option and whether they are the best option is a matter of personal opinion. You will find more info and discussion about Resorthoppa and other transfer operators in our For weather news and links, or webcam views so that you can check out current conditions for yourself, take a look at our Weather Q&As topic.

Hi David
please click here.
You will also be able to access reviews of Gemelos 22 and other complexes via the Hotel Reviews button in the navigation bar at the top of the page.

One of the most popular self catering complexes with our members is Gemelos 22, which sits at the Rincon end of the resort. There is no shortage of bars, cafes and restaurants in the area, it is convenient for all the nightlife, and a short walk to the beach. Given the recent experience that my Mum has had with Resorthoppa, I would say absolutely definitely DO NOT USE them.
If you look at the Airport Transfer thread, you will see what happened to her and now they have had the cheek to email and say that they will offer her a single free transfer. She has told them just where they can stick there supposedly"Free Transfer" which isn't actually free at all given that she had to fork out for a Taxi because of their incompetence.
I would try Shuttledirect who appear to be a very good reliable company.

Many thanks I booked transfer's with Shuttledirect & accommodation with Gemelos22 apartments.
Individual owners or booking agents will have their own key collection arrangements. If they didn't advise you during the reservation process, then hopefully their booking confirmation will clarify the situation.
David
Make sure you find out exactly where to collect the keys BEFORE you go. This might vary depending on your time of arrival. One reason I prefer to hire a car is that I can leave the cases and the other baggage in the car while I sort this out. The other baggage tends to moan if they are left standing by the side of the road in the heat. Be prepared for a bit of messing about, it's the way they do things in Spain! Quite often I've been told the key is with a building porter, who is nowhere to be found, but these guys work ridiculously long hours, so you can't blame them for disappearing now and again! Rather than getting aeriated, just go and have a cool drink.
Got a good replay from the booking agent, giving me a mobile number I have to call when I land so he can arrange for someone to meet me at the apartments they also took my number to be on the safe side.
So far for 2 adults flying from Glasgow Int under £350.
stuth can i ask were you got cheap flights from glasgow i couldnt find any
I found myself on charterflights.co.uk, booked 8 days before we travel.
My one reservation is that we had a 12.5 hour delay coming back in April but having said that two previous flights with Globespan were fine. The first 2 flights were from Glasgow, the delayed flight was to Edinburgh and the October flight is also Edinburgh. Distance wise we are about the same from both but Edinburgh flight times are better.
P.S The apartment sleeps 4 but by booking direct there is no under occupancy charge for the 2 of us.
THe Apartments were 1st class.
