One thing I do find about KL is that its the cheapest of the Far East cities to get a really good hotel.
And if you ever want to do an IT course..dirt cheap...the one I did cost £1350 in the UK...exact same course KL was £250...and as the Mandarin Oriental was the nearest hotel I just had to go...well didn't I
I have to say after experiencing both the Shangri La and the Mandarin Oriental my choice would definately be Mandarin Oriental (although I did enjoy Shangri La it could not compete with the service at MO)
And the view from the infinity pool is just great.
We ate dinner at the pool restaurant a couple of evenings and it felt like you were sitting out in the middle of the countryside some where not in the middle of KL.
Rickt. Thanks for your Mandarin Oriental recommendation, I will certainly give it a try the next time I am in KL. KL is my favourite stopover city on the way to OZ and NZ. I like to have a couple of nights there one way and a few in Penang at the end of my trip.
well- thats me back now. Next Far East trip is Dec 26th when we go to Hong Kong and Bangkok- for just over a week. Who are still looking forward to their holidays? Are you going somewhere for the first time or returning to a favourite place? What are you most looking forward to?
No more long haul this year. Hopefully I'm going to Laos late 2008. Have heard/read lots about it and would like to tour the country. I may add on a few days in north Vietnam if possible as I have only visited the south and would like to see more.
