We've been using Sam's Paradise for the last 5 years, we discovered Ganesh Shack last Nov and spent quite a few days there, both shacks are really good for food, but you don't have to pay for sunbeds at Sam's, you do at Ganesh.

You go down the main beach road in Candolim and when you get to the bottom turn right just after the car park, follow the track round and you will have Zappa's shack to your left turn right when you get down onto the beach and Sam's is about the 7th shack up. We stayed in the Highland 3 years ago and had breakfast on the beach every morning at Sam's it was much less hassle than trying to get a table in the hotel and having to queue for food. We go in 10 days time so we may see you there.

for 6 days then move on down the south for 2 weeks,
stayed at the highland last dec,so not botherd about the
breakfast there,as you say not worth the hassle,

Is that Sam as in Santosh. If it is I know him well. First met him in 1996 when he worked at Bono's shack. He was known as Tandoori Chicken then because he was so skiny.

Trev - don't know if it is the same Sam, we've only known him as Sam, he's quite tall and slim, but not skinny (suppose he could have filled out a bit). We go on the 27th Nov, so we may see you there if you get up that end of the beach.

I'm new to the site but not to Candolim - we will be there for our 5th trip in early Feb and the only thing we can think of is the vast choice of food there! That and that ship! Can anyone let us know what the state of play is at the moment? Maybe it's gone! (please)!!?

Thanks for the link. I don't know how we missed HT until now! Very useful to get up to date info on Candolim from people who have just come back and from those still there!
When we get there we will keep you all informed about any progress on the removal of The River Princess!
