I have to say that i feel it was unnecessary to remove the thread on Hassle in Turkey.
We are all adults and are all entailed to our own opinion even if it differs from some who see Turkey through rose coloured glasses.
As far as i could see there was no naming calling or insulting of others in that thread so why it was deleted i don't know.
Are "we" only allowed to post how great Turkey is? are we not allowed to post things that we don't like about Turkey .ie.... the hassle that you get?

Theres no point arguing boro - They do it often. No doubt a quotation from the T&C's will follow... Im with you it was not out of hand, and becomming a popular topic, one which the contributors had strong views on.
Like you i feel the thread was a good one and one which people did have strong views on but views that where put across in the right way.
It just annoys me that if someone dares to write about one of Turkey bad points the rose coloured glasses come out the next thing the post is removed..... makes me wonder if this site is ran by the Turkish tourist board!!!! ..... (JOKE!)
I was following the debate and was enjoying the sparing, I didn't agree with a lot of what was said but I was thinking that is one of the reasons that this site is so popular, people can put their own opinions over. I too am a little dissapointed that it has been deleted.
Im sorry I missed the original post! I agree that if there is something people dont like it is good to let others know about it. I am a bit concerned about the hassle we might get so any information on how to deal with it is welcome, not something which should be removed.
Hopefully deleted topics from these boards can be revieved (im assuming they have the sence to place them into a holding board which is not publicly viewable rather then removal from the database).
Whilst some strong views were made I found it interesting how people have views of hassling, some not so fussed as others, generally the concensus was that nobody likes it, some good tips on avoiding it, etc.
who actually owns this site i remember when i was in turkey a couple of years ago. jt used to say it was his i dont no if that he was just braging or this may explain why certian things get taken off
We do, on occasions, move topics so that they can get "cleaned" before being moved back to the forum for discussion.
As I have not seen Briar online all day today, this might just be the case.
Moderators do an unthankful task and any criticism they receive is more welcomed by PM rather than on the public forum

We will not tolerate the arugments and mud slinging, it has nothing to do with advertisers or the website owner.

I hadnt noticed he was a new user- well spotted doesmc. Dont suppose we could know who it is/was?
Well sorted Sarah. Just wanted to give a vote of thanks to the Mods and Admin for keeping the site orderly. It must take a lot of your free time and effort.
Just for the record with regards to chavs (whom I made the most fleeting of references to & it got taken totally out of proportion) & I didn't aim to cause offence to anyone on here, not that I'm calling anyone on here a chav.
I'm not suggesting people are chavs because they dress a certain way.
A chav is a chav because of a mindset & attitude, the fact that they wear certain things as a uniform to affiliate themselves to a certain group, does not mean that I think that all people who dress in baseball caps & other chav attire) are chavs. No, but most chavs wear baseball caps.
Just to clear that up, I wouldn't want people to think I was saying anyone was a chav.
