OMG your joking right ? :?

Seriously it will be VERY hot in August it is the warmest month of the year......check the weather section at the top of the page to give you some idea of past temps in August............I've been a few times during August and vowed never again as it was TOO hot.

You've picked a great place to go though on your first hol abroad.

Have a great time and leave the brolly/jumpers at home

Hi

I really feel the cold and resemble an eskimo when it's just a bit chilly!

Re Cyprus in August --- never bother with anything with long sleeves let alone a coat. If anything make sure you take lots of t- shirts and shorts as you will sweat so much that you'll need to change a lot!

Re rain ---- I think we saw a grey puffy cloud once on the coast in Pafos.

To be honest I'd make sure you are prepared for the intensity of the heat. It caught us out the first time we went there!

Have a great time - you'll love it

I agree with all on this post...I do live here and I can assure you it will not rain and you will never even be slightly cool, you will wonder how you keep breathing, and leaving your digs will be so hard because you will have A/C, every step you take is hard, you may think it warms up in the UK but you really have no idea  you certainly will not need any heavy clothes and you are not going to need a hot water bottle..have a good sweaty time.. 8)

Be prepared to be dripping with sweat from early morning to late at night - and I don't mean because you'll be wearing a coat!!!

Not so sure about that, I used to say the same many years ago, before I came to live here, then you change your mind on that statement, most ex pats never lay in the summer sun here, and sleeping in almost impossible unless you get blitzed, not recommended when you have months of hot weather.. 8)

i only got 2 weeks of jimbox

although i would never lie out in the sun i like to walk in it

1 of my favourite things to do whilst on holiday is to walk down to the waters edge and pick a direction (left or right) and then just walk till i've had enough then walk back
