Paphos is open all year, one of it's attractions, but make sure you have some form of heating in your dig's as Cyprus gets cold at nights, some places may be closed because it is a holiday here, some may be closed for re-furbes, but life goes on in the old town even in winter, most shop's and restaurants will be open after the short Christmas break..

New year maybe book a hotel meal and a dance, if you are into this sort of thing... apart from that bars will be doing some form of entertainment, try O'Neil's on the ''Tombs road'', live music and a lively time had by all..

Daytime weather can be more than good, but also it can be stormy and wet, this will be down to your luck!! this year was mostly good, Jan&Feb are the worst months on the island, normally.

I hope the weather stays good for you...

Hi there,

We have stayed at the Anemi previously over Christmas. Evelyn, the lady who owns the apartments is very nice and the last time we stayed there she had just had a new restaurant area added with a small stage area for entertainment of an evening.

The apartments are in a great position at the top end of Bar Street, although close to the street the apartments are in a very quiet location. Only 10 minutes or so walk to the harbour area too.

You will usually find that you will get sunshine and it will feel quite pleasant up until 2 or 3pm each day but once the heat has gone from the sun, it will cool down quite rapidly feeling chilly at night.

I always find that packing clothes for a winter holiday is the hardest of all as you have to try to pack for all eventualities.

You will also tend to find that only a few of the bars will be fully open or occupied on Bar Street as most people staying in the resort at that time of year tend to frequent the seafront restaurants and those on Tombs of the Kings road.

I will keep my fingers crossed that the weather is kind to you during your stay :)

thank you Jim for the infomation will look out for

O'Neil's on the ''Tombs road'' as that sounds more like our scene than a dinner dance :) according to info I found on the hotel, the hotel has heating

cyprus100 thanks for the information on the hotel its always good to hear from someone that has stayed in a hotel you are going to

I know the weather will be mixed , just looking forward to seeing cyprus and wandering about the old sites and seeing the history my only problem will be that hubby and I both dont drive so we will have to use public transort , mind you that can be fun as well on holiday :D

Hi,
Public transport is not very good in Cyprus if you want to travel to other towns, but you will find travel agencies down in the harbour area running various excursions. We did the trip to Kyrenia and Bellapais back in March, as although we had a hire car, we weren't allowed to take it over to the TRNC. We really enjoyed the day out, even though it rained, and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. The previous year we did the day trip to Egypt, and that also I would love to do again. There were other trips as well, and I should imagine that they run all year as Paphos is a year round destination.

As the location of the Anemi is only 1 street or so back from the seafront road, you should be able to get a public bus to the town or along Tombs of the Kings road.

Taxi's are okay for short distances around the town and as a rule, there is a fixed price for journeys within the resort itself.

Always agree the price with the driver before you set off or insist on him setting the meter.
