Before we went we said that it would be our last time on the algarve for at least 5 years because we want to try other countries too but it's so hard not to be tempted back so we are looking at maybe going back
.......... We've been doing that for the last 19 years !!

Hi Ali

I am going for the first time in 7 years and I was feeling a bit like that myself at one point, I think we must still go as my kids are also looking forward to it. It's a sad fact of life that dreadful things happen even in beautiful places, when folk are least expecting it and their guard is down. :( The rest of us must just carry on as best we can.

We are returning to Portugal after a 12 year break, this will be are twentieth visit, yes you could say we like Portugal, but as said in previous posts we too decided to try other places such as Cuba, Mexico, Jamaica, Aruba, Dominican, and our favourite India, but Portugal is still a very special place for us, as over the years we have made many, many, many friends who we still keep in touch with and have asked us year in and out when are we coming back, well as I said at the top, this is the year and we cant wait now as time the draws near, we just hope that it has not been to spoilt, as when we first went (1979) there where only a few bars in the town, we did see it grow for the better may I add, to probably 30/40 bars/restaurants last time we were there in 95.
Will close now but will hopefully post a report on my return (Aug). Jxk8....

Its what they call eggdiction!! 21 yrs for us, had a timeshare there & kicked it into touch and bought over 4 yrs ago and apart from the USA we wouldnt go anywhere else, even the winter doesnt put us off when lots of places are closed and the weather is iffy, the Portuguese are such a friendly bunch.
