Have you ever had the pleasure of sharing a hotel with a famous person?

I had the misfortune to have to share a hotel in Barbados with Stan "I hate ze Germans" Boardman.

Also had the misfortune to be at the same hotel at the same time when Robbie from Eastenders (can't remember the actors name) was there.

Still at the same hotel, but a different year, the magician Paul Daniels and the lovely Debbie McGee were there. This was magic.

Come on then guys, it is time for you to start calling the names.

well, not at the hotel, but I met Liz MacDonald from Corrie in Manchester airport one year and that same year we met Cilla Black in Malaga when we landed!

I've never knowingly stayed anywhere with anyone famous but I have met Terry Waite in the BA lounge at Heathrow and he was very nice. Bobby Robson and Alan Shearer once sat in the row behind us on the plane (Bobby was very friendly but Alan was a bit of sourpuss, maybe he'd had a bad morning). And I also saw Simon Weston at Heathrow but he was reading a book and I didn't have the nerve to interupt.

Melinda Messenger was on our flight to Bali she was getting married there. Saw her on a few trips and she seemed friendly and was mixing with other holidaymakers.
David Seaman was on our flight to Antigua he was friendly and shaking hands with people.
Ryan Giggs was in Antigua at the same time never saw him but got his girlfriend told when she tried to barge in the queue for the toilets. I had a few lemonades by this time :oops:

Tommy Sheridan Scottish MSP was staying in the same hotel in Cuba. He was meeting Fidel Castro probably to talk over some socialist policies! He was lovely never tried to force his opinions on anyone.

Sat across the aisle to Buzz Aldron on a Delta flight. The flight attendants looked after him well and gave him a bottle of whisky at the end of the flight!

Ron Atkinson at Birmingham airport last week when we were flying out to Malta. He was departing to Tenerife at the same time from the flight gate next door to us. Most people in our party didn't have a clue who he was as they know nothing about football..and one comment was "isn't Ron Atkinson Mr Bean?" to which the more savvy in our party gave howls of laughter ( or was it derision!). Thoroughly nice chap.
Whilst in Malta, parked up in Valetta was Mr Abramovich one one of his "smaller" yachts (only £35million worth).

I spotted the girl who used to play Candice in Corrie at Manchester airport last year.

Mark was it Club Rockley in Barbados because I know that Paul D and lots of other famous people stay there? cool hotel eloped there 13 years ago happy days :lol:

I was on a flight to Singapore with Sue Pollard and she was just as zany in real life as on TV.I aslo sat next to Dean Sullivan(Jimmy Corkhill!) at Gatwick while waiting for our siutcases.He was lovely and chatty.Jack Charlton at Alicane airport.The flight was delayed and he stood in the queque with everyone else for the complimentary meal.

Denise Welch and husband Tim and their 2 boys at Palma airport. BTW on arrival back at Manchester their luggage had got lost. See...it can happen to the best of us. :lol:

Hi all
I haven't met but walked past Mike Winters and his wife in Great Yarmouth, only older members would probably remember him and his brother Bernie, ( they were brother comedians) for the younger members.
I have met Emlyn Hughes, I used to know Larry Grayson's sister and neice and nephews. His sister, neice and nephews used to live in my street.
Bernie Cllifton spoke to my little daughter in Ilfracombe.
