dissapointed was I. returning to malta in november and really wish to visit this fort but dont want to walk all this way again for no entry coz my legs dont work too well and i walk with a stick. of course if it is open then i can take my time and probably make a day of it. ta muchly in advance for info.

Hello pete, The last few times I have been to Malta I always tried to get in the fort, I did get in on my last visit to Malta although it was a bit of a mess and was in need of a lot of repair.
I am sure it was on a Saturday mourning and you have to go to the side gate next to the creeck, there is a bit of a steep climb once in to get to the first level but once up this bit it is fine.
If I was you though I would ask in the tourist office just inside the main gate of Valletta just to be sure.
