hi sooze29, we went to Corfu last year on the 26th september, we stayed in Sidari and everything was open and out of the 7 days we were there we only had one really bad day it rained so much we had to paddle back to our apartment after our evening meal, but the next morning it was fine again.

sooze, type Kerkyra into wunderground...the Greek name for Corfu!

Mozzies are in full force in September having had all summer to breed.

Everything will still be open, some bars and restaurants start closing at the start of October but not before.

You are nearly always guaranteed a storm or two in September. They usually come across the mountains of Albania and deposit on Corfu, But DO NOT let it bother you. As soon as it is over get out and enjoy the fresh, clean air. My wife and I were caught in the worst storm that any of the villagers in Acharavi can remember, last September. Though only 200 metres from our accomodation, the water was rushing down the road to the sea. We were in the Skondros Taverna on the beach. About 1 O'clock the rain had stopped but the water was still about a foot deep and rushing down. We made to go and risk it but the Taverna owner would not hear of it, got his car out and drove us to our apartment. Typical Greek hospitality, wonderful. We have a laugh about it now so just do the same and tuck the memories away for later. Get there and have a great holiday. Peter Pan of Acharavi. :D
