The weather should still be over 30c most days, evenings being nice and comfortable. The weather gets gradually worse as the month continues, with likleyhood of rain and worse weather increasing as you near the end of september.
Thanks Phil, that's really helpful
We always go in september, anytime between 7th and 12th, lovely time to go, still very hot but not like July and August, as said in previous post the later on in the month the more likelyhood of slight rain storms and chillier nights. September and May are the best.
Kev
We are looking at going for a week on the 8th September so sounds like the right time. Do you arrange your own holiday or book a package and where do you stay?
Thanks
Janet
We have been to quite a few places around Turkiye with tour operators, but we dropped on this lovely family run hotel in Ovacik about 11 years ago and have been there ever since on a D.I.Y. basis as does everyone that uses the hotel now, because about 7 years ago they kicked the tour operators into touch because of the rubbish rates they wanted to pay them for the rooms.
So we sort out our flights, then book the accomodation, quite a lot of the time this can work out a lot cheaper than getting a package, but that all depends on what price you can get the flights at, obviously the cheaper the flights the cheaper your holiday would be.
I won't lie to you, but you can get as cheap or sometimes even cheaper package holidays out there, but what you don't get is private transfers and airconditioning thrown in, which in some cases can cost £ 3.oop per day, We go for two weeks at a time and our price ( based on flights at £ 150 each ) comes out at £ 570.oop. for the 2 of us.
We were lucky this year because we got the May flights for £ 105. and we got the August flights for £ 145. which is very cheap, the average price being about £ 170.
We actually stay at the Gunes Hotel at Ovacik, there is a link to the site at the bottom of my post. I hope I have helped in some way, and given you thoughts for a new way of booking a holiday.
Cheers Kev
Thanks for the advice Kevin, that is VERY helpful
we go to turkey around 3-5 times a year usually and sometimes on a package sometimes DIY, its best to shop around and see what you can find. next month we are going DIY, but in oct i found a package for 2 adults & 1 child for £312 thats only 104 each so no way would i beat that doing a DIY as flights around this time were at least £150-£250. have a look at h4u,portland,eclipse aswell as flight only cos and accommodation only cos, we sometimes use freedom direct, quick rooms, online travel, findmeaccom when we dont stay in our own apt. good luck and sept is a lovely time to visit turkey, ive been looking for my daughter and ive found some flights from gatwick for about 130 each beginning of sept
i am going to turkey 2nd june next year what will the weather be like
