Gumbet market isn't up to much - Bodrum (next town over) market is on Tuesday, or theres a big market in Turgutries on Saturdays. She can book on an air-conditioned coach trip for Turgutries market at any tour agency in town, shouldn't cost more than about £5. It takes about 30 minutes by coach to get to Turgutries from Gumbet.

Jewellry - I would say, tell your girls to have a look round, there are quite a few jewellry shops in Gumbet now, dotted around the main streets of the resort. I've had good service in Castle jewellry and the one across the road from it (near the Baba hotel) and in Crown jewellers, near Daddys bar. Bodrum is also good for jewellry shops - I like Mert jewellers there, in the square on Bar Street, across from Fora bar.

Oh, and remind the girls they have to haggle for their jewellry, otherwise they will get taken advantage of. Jewellers don't expect to get the first price they quote you.

Wish I was going too!

Hi, if the girls want gold, I can recommend Muti jewellers - not far from Chinatown on the way up to the Windmill. If they like silver, go and see Ali, also not far from Chinatown (but the other side, on the way to Cheers bar and restaurant - an open-air shop). If they see Ali, tell them to say hello from the shite man and family who will see him again in September.
