Hi Everyone, we,re off to sa coma on tuesday, could anybody give me an idead of the local food and drink prices due to us going s/c? thanks in advance#

We are going to Sa Coma on Saturday 23rd (4th time) When we were there in June we found the prices of drink and food very reasonable, cheaper than the UK. We were getting meals + drinks (2 adult, 2 children) for £15-20. We did struggle though to find somewhere that did really, really nice food. I recommend Atlantica though we have never had a bad meal there. Have you stayed at Sa Coma before? Which hotel are you staying in?

Hi Sue,         Thanks for your help, never been to sa coma before, ive only ever been to Alcudia about 9 years ago now. Stayin at the bouganvilla apts but my partner has stayed there before so I know what to expect, I think hehe! It was a last minute booking on a budget im afraid this year, Ive been going to Bulgaria for the last few years which is really cheap. Thanks again x
You can upgrade to half board for a very reasonable price....and you can do it on a daily basis! Try it!
Also how busy do you think the apts will be next Sunday, will we be bale to get a sun lounger out or do they fill up very early in the morning?
Thanks
I am off to Bouganvilla on 25th October, bit worried that the weather will be horrible but watching this forum to get ideas for the holiday.
I arrived home from the bouganvilla on the 2nd sep. I went self catering and enquired about the possibility of upgrading to all inclusive. I was told this would be 100 euros per day so I decided against it but that was in the peak time so I should imagine it would be a lot cheaper to upgrade at the time your going. The weather was really hot while I was there, topping 38degrees at times, I wouldnt be suprised if it was still very hot on your hols, its about 26 degrees today. Hope this helps

Hi SueJayne. Were is the Atlantica? Going to Sa Coma on Thursday.
Last week was very , very hot and humid but this week 13 sept onwards its cooled down and very pleasant, 28 today, monday. The restaurant is the Atlantic, just by the chemist ( farmacia) on the main avenue up from the beach. There is also the Royal Oak, White Lion and JJ'S and although a little dearer is the open air BBQ At Cafe del Mar. If theres a day not to go on the beach why not havea agame of mini-golf, go on the open top bus to Costa de los Pinos ( 3.70 e return..it takes 1and half hours) bus to Porto Cristo or the big local market at Son Servera on Friday am.even a walk to S'Illot or Cala Millor and Cala Bona to the small harbour.Enjoy your holiday. Half lager about 1.40, gin tonic 3.50 ( more then double measures of course) coffee and brandy in some places only 2 e.
Thanks very much alan40uk, anywhere you can recommend that does a nice steak thats all the other half wants!! Im glad about the weather as i was thinking we would be needing our woolies!!
Hi Tatty Ive been to Sa Coma 3 times and a favourite place of ours to go for food is Delaneys. Its an Irish themed restaurant with food to die for. They do lovely sizzling chicken which is still cooking away as they bring it to the table and they have beef and guinness pie to mention a couple of things. Its usually pretty quiet so you dont have long to wait for your food to arrive. Only thing I must mention is that I was last in Sa Coma last year and dont know if Delaney's will still be there. If it is I would recommend you give it a go.
Delaney's is still going strong --
you can get a nice steak in the kings head or the britannia, apparently both owned by the same family, I even had a curry there and thought it was great. Also, take a trip into Cala Millor, its about 6 euros in a taxi and a lot bigger than sa coma, found some nice places to eat there too,

Thank you very much everyone, much appreciated!
Hi queenmunchkin. Why did you think Delananys might not be there this year?
When we went back to Sa Coma last year, we found that a little place called "Buddy's" where we sometimes ate, had shut down. I found too that a second visit to Playa de las Americas in Tenerife, saw me discovering certain pubs that had either closed or changed their names since my previous visit. So because it was June 2007 when I had last been in Sa Coma, I wasn't sure if things may have changed with Delaney's or if they were still there. However I followed the link on this thread and can see that Delaney's is still going strong, which is great as it has the best food in Sa Coma
I like Bar Antic for food. Its just along the prom in S'illot (only 10 mins max just strolling) CBG
