Hi
Am going to Kalives on Tuesday have the prices gone up any ??? What is the av price of a meal / drinks etc????
Any help greatly appreciated
We had a bit of a dialogue earlier on before I visited Kalives in June. You were very helpful. It was really great. We didn't get to Il Forno, sorry. We went twice to Medusa and twice to Zorba's in the market place, also Provlita and Akrogiali on the seafront. For 2 courses each (2 of us), wine and water we paid from €22.50 to €28.90. Zorba's was the cheapest and the chicken pie is delicious. It covers the plate! A couple of the tavernas have started bringing a sealed bottle of water without being asked. It is charged for on the bill. You expect it with bread but not water.
We didn't pay for any sunbeds in Kalives as our apartments (Thamiris) had free ones. In Almyrida it was €7. Only €5 in Georgoupolis.
I think beer was €2.30, spirits €4. Cigs €25 - 28 depends on brand. Bus to Chania was €2.20 each way.
One night we went to Vamos village, recommended by our host the taverna was under a big tree, called something about Bloumosifis. It was very nice but €34.50 then they short changed us by €10 when we had given them a €50 note. Not sure whether this was intentional or not.
Never saw your Erodios Apts. Ours was on the main street, just before the river. The sea-facing balconies also faced the Kalives beach Hotel and river.
Have a great time.
Yiamass, Jean
I love Kalives . Go for it. Kalives has always been a very popular holiday destination, having wide swathes of sandy Blue Flag standard beaches looking out towards Souda Bay, popular beachside tavernas, and comfortable bars and cafes looking over the sea.
