Thanx for all your advice.
Bet you can't wait to get out here! Not sure about price of kids meals as we have teenagers who eat lots! Where we're staying (Santo Tomas) a starter is approx 5-10euros and a main course approx 12-25euros depending on what you have, soft drinks approx 1.60-2euros,mineral water a little cheaper.Hope you have a great time,if you're hiring a car,pop down to Santo Tomas and say 'Hi'!! Beach is very nice!
I have been to Menorca 3 times but haven't been since they have been in the euro did it make any difference to the prices?
a lot of things were rounded up in price, however most places are still decent value, just a bit more than they used to be
-nearly 3 years ago now!
As it was the very start of the season some of the shops hadn't opened yet and were getting ready to open.
Some items like buckets and spades, lilo's etc and in the supermarkets, still had the Pts price next to the Euro.
There wasn't alot of difference but mostly rounded up not down.
Still good value though.
Here's the cheat sheet for conversion if you need it

One day we were talking to the apartment receptionist and said how we thought it had all gone up and she agreed.
We went sc and went through £500 in no time, that was a cooked breakfast, home made lunch of french bread from the local supermarket, and chips/ pate/ cheese. And in the evening we went out too.
A couple of weeks later though, we went to mainland spain and it was so much cheaper, although we were not in a tourist area. And me and my two children 7 & 10 years were eating for 24 euros in total!!
Looks like we're heading off to Menorca at the end of August for a week so I have a couple of questions for you all.
(1) Is perfume cheaper in Menorca than 'Duty Free' ?
(2) What's the temperature like in the evenings, t-shirt and shorts or jeans and long sleeve tops ?
Taking a 1 year old and 3.5 year old so we need to know what to pack !
In August I would say Shorts and T-shirts, kids might want a fleece or something similar for late on.
We went in june this year and it was hot!We didnt need anything other than shorts and t-shirts.But saying that last year in the evening i needed a cardy for the first week in the evening. But the kids were ok.
It will not be that chilly.
For the children, I would say, just a change from a vest top to a t shirt would be more than enough!!!!
Agreed. Forget the fleeces. The evenings are warm in August and fans will be needed in your bedroom to get a good nights sleep.
Duty free at the airports were not much different to the prices we pay here - maybe a £1 or £2 different but nothing major.
I got some real bargains when I was in Mallorca in June - I got my usual perfume plus the matching large body lotion plus a free smaller bottle of the perfume plus load of testers and samples from the shop - and all this worked out £5 cheaper than I would normally buy the perfume for here in the UK.
Also the Clinique moisturiser I use was about £8 cheaper there.
All in all loads of bargains.
P.S. Booze was really cheap too
Going back in October to restock!!
Carmel
Thanks very much everyone, can't wait now.
