We are a family of 4 ages 2x40+ 16 girl & 13 boy ....thing is Mum & Dad like the pool sunbathing ,eating ,drinking we have been to Bulgaria the past 8 yrs but fancy a change but the kids although they do eat they don't do the sunbathing & pool thing as they get easily fed up.
We have never been to Turkey and would welcome some help with a self catering holiday that can cater for us all the kids like entertainment (singing dancing cabaret ect ...football,computers all the general stuff teens like ...& like most teens they are teenagers going on 25
any help will be really welcome oh we are on a tight budget £1500 flight & hotel from Scotland first 2 weeks July
Would recommend Marmaris for the teens, as it is all geared up to the younger age groups, but depends how much you like a brash 'in your face' bustling resort, fact is we hated it, but can see how much it must appeal to the teens.
However, if you don't like the sound of Marmaris, stay in nearby Icmeler, a different kind of animal altogether, with a far more laid back vibe, better beaches, and in my opinion a much prettier location, surrounded by the pine forests of the National Park. The good thing about staying there would be that you can all just hop on a dolmus (bus) and visit Marmaris, which is a short ride away and cheap enough too, so that you keep the kids happy, as well as being able to spend time chilling out on the lovely beaches in Icmeler.
The flights from Scotland this year are not cheap with flyglobespan going bust to Turkey. If you want I can pm you a great travel agent who works for Hays Travel and she will get you a great deal and put it all together for you. Stay away from the Tour Ops for Turkey as it is so much cheaper doing it all seperate.
I used to book all my holidays with Hays travel but as they put the holidays together ,I have now booked this years holidays with Thomson or Thomas Cook direct just in case.
If you are looking for any help advice or a good deal try these we have friends tha us e nobody else
http://www.h4u.co.uk we are going to Altinkum with them in July, I have always found their prices excellent from Scotland during the summer holidays, our 2 weeks SC cost us just over £1000 for 2ad, 1 ch and 1 teenager, although I did book last year and their prices have gone up slightly. They use a Turkish Airline, Onur Air, very basic but we've never had any problems with them, they get you from A to B and I personally would rather save on flights and have more to spend when in resort.
Try
same family group as us - we flying fromglasgow on 5th july staying at bitez for a change as done marmaris last couple of years. heard bitez is between bodrum and gumbet so plenty to do but staying in quieter resort! we booked through A! travel before the dreaded ash cloud and it cost us £1200
