I booked. DIY. Flights from Stanstead with Airberlin and booked direct with the hotel from the Protur Hotels website. Saved over a £1000 for group of 6people than if booked a package.

Would be interested to hear from anybody who's been there this year.Only 2 weeks left before we go.

Hi

We are staying at the palmeras playa in June this year, can anyone recommend a good room to request. Not really sure where the apartments are in Sa coma, so would like to know if your room is not overlooking the pool, where else may your room ob looking eg street, beach etc? We have two small children so would preferably like a low floor room. Do they have ground floor rooms?

Any info appreciated

thanks

Hi there Emma,

The PP is situated on the main road between S'illot and Sa Coma and is literally a short (1 minute) walk to the beach. It is in a U shape with all the rooms looking over the pool however due to it's position you do not get sun all day on the terraces. One side gets the sun in the morning and the other side gets it in the afternoon and this lead to what we called double bedding. People were "reserving" beds on one side and using the other side beforehand therefore getting the sun all day. We thought it quite sad and comical really and just walked to the beach if we couldn't get beds. The hotel itself though was fine and clean and thought it was in a good position to be able to enjoy both S'illot and Sa Coma. Have a great holiday!

Oh and BTW, yes they do have ground floor rooms, people used to climb over their terrace walls in the morning with their towels when going to get the sun beds.

Yes I agree with you Barnio, people were very greedy as regards sun beds. Also people positioned their sun beds very close to the edge of the pool, which I thought was very dangerous. If we couldn't get a sun bed in a safe place, then we too would venture down to the beach which is only a short walk away.

Hi

Thanks for all the replies, i have read comments before about the hotel being shaded, should i let this put me off? We haven't actually booked this hotel yet (although when i wrote the post, i did actually think my other half had booked). The other hotel we were interested in is the Paraiso Apartments. Do any of you have any info on these please? Not sure which one to book now! The reason we chose Palmeras first was because we stayed in a protur hotel last year in sa coma and found there standards to be very high. Any advise would be appreciated.

thanks

Booked here for May. Anyone stayed there? Can you hire pool towels or do we take our own? Many of the places we stay hire them and it cuts down on weight.

Thanks in advance.
