Hi, We have stayed at another hotel within the complex, the Vista Badia. It is just in front of the Safari Park. Protur have 5 (I think) hotels in the complex all around each other. I'd say Safari is the biggest family orientated hotel/apartments. The Safari houses one of the themed restaurants which all the hotels in the complex can use, so we walked through it a few times. It is a very big hotel and seemed very busy and the sunbeds around the big pool were tightly packed. It definately has all the attractions for a family - big pool, big stage for entertainment, childrens club etc - but it just seemed a little too big and busy for us. I think the british are more outnumbered there than at the Vista Badia with mostly German/Scandinavian. You can only use your own hotels pool, restaurant, bar and entertainment and if you are AI the wristbands are a different colour to the other hotels.

The hotels in the complex can all use the different themed restaurants dotted around the hotels, and can visit the complex's own water park (which has a charge depending on what board you stay on hb,ai etc). There is also free hire of bikes.

We are a family of 4, and we really enjoyed staying at the Vista Badia which has a more laid back feel. It is in a horseshoe shape and looks out towards the sea. It still has the entertainment and kids club etc but on a smaller scale than the Safari. The main pools in both were quite deep with no real shallow end (1m). There were small childrens pools perfect for toddlers and sandy play area at the Vista Badia.

I would recommend the Protur complex, but preferred the Vista Badia to the Safari.

We stayed in Cala Bona in 2009 in a Protur hotel and visited the Safaripark to play mini golf one day (which was really boring, its set in woods and you keep losing the balls) Anyway we stopped to have a drink in one of the bars and thought the pool area looked fab, yes it was busy but been AI i suppose most people stay round the pool all day but we thought the AI food looked good, there was a barbeque going on and all the food was been cooked fresh for the people queuing not sat out in the sun, there was a good choice of lollies and ice cream. In the bar where we sat there were a lot of germans(you can tell by their tight speedos!!!) but it was all friendly and the complex was not rowdy at all. We payed for our drinks and got exactly the same as the hotels guests on AI got. Overall we were impressed with this hotel and we are looking to go to the Vista Badia later on this year as the Protur chain of hotels all seem to get good reviews.

Happy Holidays :tup
