Hi Bozzly why don't you try the marina suites there at the bottom of the hill next to the harbour,my friend stayed there in may 07 and said it was fantastic! ,try and look for them on hotel reviews hope this helps.

The El Greco apartments get good reviews and are at the bottom facing the beach Click Here for reviews

Close to the beach: Vistamar Apartments, El Greco, Rio Piedras, Marina Suites, Morasol Suites are all decent and get good reviews. But the beach area only has a couple of bars/restaurants down there so evenings can quiet.

Closer to the main centre things get a little louder at night but cala nova should be far enough away to allow good snoozing.

One thing to clarify though

My walking isn't as good as it used to be

On a good day I can walk a long way but when my aches kick in it just makes it harder and painful to walk. What I was after was somewhere that wasn't a long way from the beach and somewhere that is halk board.

would probably suggest the Marina Suites (i should be on commision! :tup ) they are close to the beach. do good H/B and have a great pool area. Close to a small commercial centre and a short cab ride to other amnities. And on your good days there is a great walk along the front to Amadores beach which takes about 25 mins. It is quite "international" during winter but summer it tends to be more UK/Ireland customers. I think first choice is the main t/o in here but you can book through hotelbeds or direct.

A bit further up (up about 50 steps) is Revoli, nice food nice hotel and great views down to the beach, i think thomson are in here.

i'll keep thinking for now :think , but check out those two as they fill your needs pretty well.

No worries, hope i didnt pry when asking about walking.... Another thought was the Riu Vistamar. Its above the beach and a steep walk down but they do run a free shuttle bus, its A/I and the entertainment is better both day and night than most of the hotels in the area.
