After reading some downbeat comments about some of the resorts in the North, this trip, which will be our 5th to Candolim, we are thinking of doing a 2-3 day trip down south to check it out, maybe for our next holiday. After reading resort reviews of the main places, Colva, carvolos, Benaub etc we cannot decide which to try.
We are quite happy with simple but clean accomodation, we would like a place with at least half a dozen decent restaurants, and decent choice of beach shacks ' European toilets ??? '
Our evenings tend to be a quiet meal, and a drink in the restaurant or in a bar nearby. Not too fussed about entertainment.

I would say Cavelossim 
There are plenty of places to eat, a lovely beach, plenty of shacks and all within walking distance.

Cavelossim gets my vote have a look at http://www.palmgroveresidencygoa.com and/or http://www.saodomingosgoa.com for good clean places to stay.
