do we get our tickets from the machine at the station or the ticket office?

Bus tickets are bought on board. Coach tickets are bought on board, online**, or at the ticket office. Train tickets are bought on board or at the ticket office.

**not sure if you still need a Spanish bank card for online transactions

If you send an Email to Benidorm Tourist Office they will send you timetables for both Trains and Buses. You can get a Benidorm map from them as well! turismo@benidorm.org

If you buy a tourist weekend ticket you can use the train all weekend anywhere between Alicante and Denia.

Last time we bought one we paid about £4 pp for it, we bought it from an agents opposite the indoor market. I belive a lot of the hotels also sell them.

We have used local transport to visist Alicante, Denia, Guadalest, Altea, Calpe, Villajoyosa and many more places, and found them to be very punctual and much cleaner than trains and buses at home. We downloaded timetables on the internet which were invaluable when planning our trips.
