I obviously need to go again and check it out on the childrens part of it!!!!! Last time I went, the children were well catered for in the entertainment bit, and the food was good, as what child doesn't like chicken, beans and potatoes (well, that was the thought behind the menu!!). The reps from the major companies did face painting, and yes colouring, the pony rides went on for a long time, the bouncy castle was there throughout the evening (whilst it was light enough), and I will agree with you the lassooing of children went on far too long!!!!
Bit worried now, as I have recommended it to people!!!!!!
Well 8 of us went for a night out there in January and we had a great time-and nobody was "bladdered".Think it was great value for money, food was very good and entertainment was excellent.Had lots of fun learning to line dance and would certainly go again.
Thanks Jackie, that makes me feel a bit better for recommending it!
Beans and potatoes were fine but chicken on the bone is not every young child's cup of tea and therefore makes for an expensive meal. Many parents were complaining about the horse rides which the children each had a turn of no more than 2 minutes. The bouncy castle was inflated whilst the children waited and played eye spy then again had one turn of less than 5 minutes before they deflated it. Children could indeed have their faces painted, these were not of a good quality and again many children do not like this done. A very short disco was then held in another room followed by colouring which most parents were speechless at. I'm glad we agree about the overdone lassoing though
I would like to point out though, most importantly, we were informed by our reps that no responsibility would be accepted for the safety of the children and would require parental supervision at all times. This was due to a recent accident where a child had been hurt when falling off the bouncy castle. This meant that at least one of you were unable to watch the 'show' as you were chaporoning the children around the venue. This is not what I call a family night out as to all sit and watch the line dancing would be very tedious for the children, yet the parents were unable to either, at least not together.
The idea of entertaining the children while the adults watch the 'entertainment' is fine in theory, but in practice impossible due to the reasons above with 4 and 6 year olds, unless of course you have no concern over your child's welfare. And anyhow a family night out should be just that,a shared experience enjoying the entertainment together.
With regard to no-one being 'bladdered' maybe not on Jackie's evening, but as an example, to top it all, on our return, a man so drunk, got up, made his way down the coach and lurched into the driver causing him to swerve and do an emergency stop!
I will confirm once again, many people complained to the reps on the night expressing their disappointment and several others, booked taxis and left early.
As I said earlier, I have been on many excursions of this kind and have always enjoyed them with this being the only exception so am not difficult to please. I know we all have our own expectations and had we been alone maybe several glasses of wine may have made the show a little more appealing. However in view of the lack of interest for kids and facilities for them I found it extremely poor value for money and wouldn't recommend it as a family night out. Sorry.
we went to rancho texas night do withairtour in 2002, me wife and 3 kids absolutely loved it, very entertaining from the moment we pulled up with the indians and cowboys till the weary little cowboys we ended up with wanting to get back to bed. thoroughly reccommend anyone who goes to lanz to do this night out.
rancho texas mini themepark is an enjoyable day out too, complete with croc shows and eagle shows.
I've just been browsing a Lanza website and found this which may be useful to anyone considering a visit to Rancho Texas...
Thanks for all the info! We are definetly going this year. There is a whole bunch of us going over for a wedding and some of us want to go to Rancho Texas so is should be a great night.
does anyone know the current admission charges for both the day and evening at Rancho Texas please?
thanks

Some tour operators use the place for excursions like "Hoe Down" of an evening and "Horse Riding" of a day.
It's just abit off the beaten track and as your getting off the coach you will no doubt have that, "Oh my god what have we done feeling" but I guarantee it you'll love it.
The shows are great, especially the birds of prey and it was just a great day out.
Lovely to see unusual animals, such as the white tigers, which you don't ordinarily get to see.
Highly recommended day out!
I notice that they are advertising a Spanish Flamenco night with food, drink and dancing, it sounds pretty much along the same lines as the WW nights just with a different theme.
Does anyone know if this is new or what it is like as they don't have any video clips of it ?
We really enjoyed the wild west night and if the Spanish night is any good we'll go there aswell when we go back next year.
We have just returned from holiday in lanzarote, and went to the texas rancho when we where there and it was brilliant, all the food and drink you wanted, we paid 175 euros for 3 adults and 1 kid but they class anyone over the age of 11 as an adult, they have a lasso show to start off with then take the kids away for the bouncy castle and horse riding , the adults get to do line dancing ( yehaaaaaaaaaa ). only one fault is the price of the kiddies hats and guns and things, pure rip off, if you can buy your hats before you go.
Is this place mostly for kids or can just adults go and enjoy it?
eat as much food as you want and drink as much as you want as long as you can say YEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAA, the jugs get filled up. ( brill eh )
enjoy,x
Cheers magsnmatty, thats just what i wanted to hear!!
i went last year to the night time rancho texas, me and my boyfriend, we had a brilliant time, its so entertainning , food was good all ya can eat and i was so full afterwards, the drink is free flowing , the sangria was lovely but so was the beer.. it is brilliant i say GOGOGO
Hi guys, can anyone tell me how much it costs to get a taxi from Puertocarmen Apts to Rancho Texas Wild West Night? Complete package seems a bit costly when its only 40 Euros to go to the show independently.
