I am thinking about going to Turkey next year my 2nd holiday in 3 yrs went to Benidorm last year 1st time Abroad and loved it. But now i am thinking of somewhere different and we got a good deal for this hotel in Gumbet (£1120.00 for 28th june next year for 2wks) and i was wanting to find out if this hotel is worth going to. have been on the hotel reviews and cant find this hotel anywhere. Can anyone here that has been before to that hotel let me know if it is a nice hotel and worth the money.

If its the dilek aparts in gumbet your asking about then yes i have stayed in them, many times . I think its cracking place to base yourself in gumbet, 600 yards or so to the beach, 2 mins walk from bar street and all the nightlife & the shops, but far enough away to be quiet & relaxing day or night. The hotel/apartments are a good standard, clean & plenty big enough. The pool areas slightly elevated from ground level, about 4 steps high, but its great & the pool bars well stocked with all local & international drinks, the foods good too. One of the best things about the dilek is that its opposit the best restaurant in gumbet, the Cafe Columbia or the columbia as its now called, the food here is to die for i promise you !!! i've been to gumbet 5 times now, im back this year in july & i've eaten nearly everywhere & i've never really had a bad meal anywhere, but the columbia is by far the best i've had, prices are good to, FANTASTIC !!! If you do visit it tell chris the gaffer that jamie & brian ( my dad ) sent you & you'll be well looked after...
Hope this helps, if ya need anymore info just let me know....
Bye... Jamie
Thanks Jamie for that info the reason i was thinking of that part of turkey is that there is meant to be a big theme park up from there called adaland i think that is how you spell it where you can swim with dolphines that is what the girls want to do . Can i also ask is there enough hot water for 3 of us to get a shower one after the other in this hotel and is it a good place for 1- 8yr old and 1 -14yr old to do without getting bored day and night. We were thinking in going at the end of june is it really hot at that time of year as well
I've added this hotel to our review site. If anyone has stayed here please add your review by
I've heard of Adaland but never been to it so i cant really comment on it, maybe some of the other HT Members cant tell you about it, probably best to start a new thread with it in the title. On the hot water front though, no probs their. There's four of us in our apartment, myself , missus & 2 kids & we all shower with no probs. My girls 8 & my lads 2 , and they love the pool their, keeps them occupied most of the day + your so close to the beach its easy to mix it up a bit so they dont get bored. As for night, the dilek do have some entertainment on some nights, varies from year to year. But the hotel next door seems to have something on more frequently, some really good turns, belly dancers & magic shows, allsorts really & they make you really welcome if you wish to go in a watch. As for the weather in june, fantastic 30+ everyday which is perfect. Late july early august are the hot hot months 40+ regular away.
Hope this helps.... All the best..
Jamie
Ive been to gumbet before and loved the place,we stayed at club bozok last time, which was lovely, but it had gone up too much,so we couldnt afford to stay there this time!
Trip advisor has some reviews on the dilek, which are very mixed,so i'm a bit apprehensive of what its going to be like myself!
But if you would like me let to you no,it would be no trouble, luv maz,xxx
We have gone to Gumbet the last 5 years and this July will be our 4th time staying at the Dilek. we love it!! it's a lovely place, very clean, excellent staff, nice pool and bar area, nice gardens, excellent position in town, just at the start of Bar st, before all the madness but close enough to walk there and back! they can't do enough for you, can't wait to return! We love Gumbet, there is so much to do, our groups usually ranges from 1 year old babies right up to 50-odd year olds and everyone loves it, there's lots going on in the bars, excellent excursions (boat trips, jeep safari, water park etc) I agree with the previous poster, Cafe Columbia over the road is the best food EVER!! I'm looking forward to my steak on our first night already!
Vix if you haven't already done so would you kindly leave a review for this accommodation via the link in my post above.
