Hi Guys
My dad is wanting to go and try Tunsia in May next year and has asked me to find out what hotels the troops on here would recomend for a relaxing week away. There are 8 in the party all mainly aged between 45-50yrs an would prefer all inc as they usually go to Egypt and are now looking for a change!!
Cheers
Neil
I think they might do well to consider half board in Tunisia as there are plenty of restaurants everywhere which vary from dirt cheap to extremely reasonable and it would be a pity to limit themselves, unless they have young children in tow who need a constant supply of coke and ice-cream You will get lots of votes for Port El Kantaoui, where there are many good hotels, most of which have reports on here. Sousse is my area and I would suggest the Marhaba Beach could be a good choice as it is well placed for getting into the town for transport to other areas and is not far from PEK in the other direction. Transport is cheap, even the taxis if they remember to haggle hard.
I am thinking of going myself now in November (3rd), I got a good price for the Thalasa Village in Skanes but my wife is used to the Egyptian sun then. What is the weather like in Nov?
Neil
I've had beautiful weather in November Neil but I've also had rain and high winds. You are more certain of the sun in Egypt but I think you owe it to your father to go and suss Tunisia out before sending him there.
Great hotel great food great staff.
A very good point about eating out is very cheap 3 course meal for 4 people with drinks costs around 50 Dinars.(roughly £22)
May is usually when we try to go if you miss the last week of may (uk half term) its busy but its slightly calmer.
Only thing is i would say its not recommended for wheelchair users as you need to walk down steps to the restaurant and pool
