Hi, everybody
There are a lot of websites where accommodation can be booked for a weeks'stay. However, I don't know if the websites are genuine or dodgy! Can anybody recommend a good website you have used successfully? We're hoping to go to Tenerife for a week in May and I intend booking everything over the internet as our local travel agent has closed.

Thank you all for your replies. I just want to know - following your booking, are you given clear information on where to collect keys?
With owners direct we had to go to the office on the apartment complex and quote the number of the apartment plus we showed the confirmation of booking which the owner had emailed to us and, it was straightforward. They had the keys and were expecting us. Friends of ours have also used them and admiral travel with no problems at all. I must say the properties we have rented have been really nice too.
hi, we used holidaylettings this year to book a private apartment in tenerife ( it was stunning and much cheaper and nicer than hotel rooms ) with no problems at all, they put you in touch with the owner and all communications were done via e-mail, we downloaded a booking form , sent a deposit off, then 6 weeks before we flew, sent the remainder off and 3 weeks before we flew, sue, the owner, posted the keys to us with very clear instructions and directions and contact numbers if any problems arose.
we liked it that much, we are going again at easter !

Eurosol and Skyline usually have combination 'safe' boxes outside the apartments with the code being sent well in advance of departure. They also give you a contact number, and we hav always found both very helpful and efficient

We went to this villa last July was really nice,have booked again for 2 weeks June 08,owner sent keys through the post 2 weeks before our holiday,then we posted them back when we got home

Anne21again, that villa is beautiful!! Only problem is the changeover is on fridays, and you can't get flights from Dublin to Tenerife on a Friday!

hi we booked with http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk last year and had no problem they sent us the keys and instrusions they we posted the keys back when we returned every thing was ok
hi we have been going to victoria court 1 for about 10 years now we love it we are going for a month in feb it is a brill complex nice and friendly quiet at night not far from the front but as a steep walk up thee hill

Hi we have used relaxabroad.com a number of times and found them to be very good. They do not charge credit card fees and do transfers as well.We were recommended them by a friend of a friend who knows someone who works there. However I'm sure there are lots of reliable companies out there.

I own an apartment in Costa Adeje and use holiday-rentals.com to advertise.
I've found this website very good and know my friends who also use it have no complaints.
I think most of the sites are O.K. but you'll get the odd dodgy owner!

You're right, LinA. It's unfair to blame the websites. I wish there was a website similar to eBay that you could read genuine people's comments, and ratings - sorry, like Holiday-Truths!
The information given in these websites is just like in a travel brochure, all the good stuff. But there's no way of knowing if there's noisy pubs or motorways nearby, or nightclubs within the accommodation.
Anyway, I've changed my mind about Tenerife as we're now holidaying in July instead and it might be too hot for our 14-month-old.

Hi, we used http://www.tenerifehothols.com last year,and found them very good,we stayed in the club atlantis in a 2 bed bungalow,which was superb,finlay and karen who run the business meet you on arrival ath the accommadation,and show you to your rooms,all in all a great service from start to finish.

Agree with escanatiger, used tenerifehothols on 2 occasions, both club atlantis, 1 bed apt. and 2 bed bungalow, excellent accomadation and service
