I'm from AUS and we are looking at planning our 3rd Trip to Malta in June 2015, given the distance we tend to try and spend 6 weeks in Europe. So I'm chasing a Farmhouse in Gozo, Xaghra, for 4 weeks, for a family of 4 with 2 very tall teenagers and therefore given the time we will be spending in it want it to be comfortable. I am struggling with the selection process from the online sites where owners and real estate agents advertise on sites such as HomeAway and Holidaylettings. In 2012 we got a great inexpensive apartment in Marsalforn and a very basic and expensive apartment in Sliema during the month of June, so before it got real busy. Both were booked via these sites, the Marsalforn apartment was own by a local and the Sliema apartment ended up being part of a large hotel and was very run down.

Trying to resolve pricing structures(prices vary a lot, doesn't seem to be based on quality, size or location of Farmhouse);
Some are advertised with prices based on number of people staying, so not sure if they lock bedrooms or you get the whole house;
Beds, advertised as double and singles, hard to tell from photos if they really are doubles, queen or king. We don't fit in a double, I'm the shortest in the family at 5'9 and my sons won't fit in a single without their feet hanging off the ends.
Bathrooms and showers, ads won't say if there is a free standing shower just number of bathrooms, is this something that can be confirmed easily as 4 weeks of baths would be difficult.
Reviews, they often only have a couple of reviews or none so hard to clarify whether the accommodation is any good.

That's it, no use trying to talk to the Maltese/Australians as they tend to go and stay with family so have no idea. Any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers Tank Girl
