havent stayed there but walked by and checked it out when I was there in July as a possiblilty for cheap accom.

Its hostel standard accommodation so dont expect 3* upwards but very central for the town, though a schlep to the beach. However you wont be sunbathing in December so probably ok.

I reckon you will be able to find a steal for hotel rooms in December. Suppose it depends on what you want to pay - Thomsons have got 3* half board for £47 per night early December in one hotel and then £42 for b&b at the Hotel Cervantes which is a massive (slightly dated but v comfortable) hotel right in the centre of town. I stayed there in March and it was a great base.

Hope this is useful.

Hi and thanks for that. I know the Red Parrot (from drinking there and know the vacinity coz my dad lives in Tres Torres apartments just up the road). I stayed at the Cervantes last year and found it fine. It's only a 3 night visit just to see dad before Christmas - he is elderly and lives alone - so the Red Parrot might do it. Will check Thompsons all the same. Thanks richie26 :D

If anyone else has any opinions of the Red Parrot, I would like to hear them......
