Hi Morh, Os Compadres is open at present, but is closed on Sundays (Day off), we love this restaurant & ate there 5 times in our 10 day stay last week. O'leao is also open, dont think O'Buzio was open though, The Bombay Palace Indian on the dual carriageway, Monsoon Indian/Thai on the street where the post office is (Rua Alexandre Herculano) is also open. The Strip is very quiet at the moment, not many bars open, the ones we noticed that were open were Longo, Stones, Faces,Espelho, Bj's, Albertus , Paradise , Scots Rock.
Live Sports Bar & Crocodile Rock Bar (top of cardiac hill.) also open Around St Eulalia it is more lively & more bars open, Rockline, Coyote, Universal, Eddys, Filipes, Oura, also The Happy House chinese & Chinese Royal restaurants, and maybe 5 other restaurants open as well. If you are going in a few weeks time maybe more will be open due to carnival week. Have a lovely holiday. Cheers Jayjan

Jayjan - Thanks for info. As you say probably more places will be open by the time we get there but from what you say there will be more than enough to keep us happy.

We originally booked 1 month but lost that holiday when the company went bust. Have managed to book 2 weeks though, thats better than nothing.

We have visited all 3 restaurants.

When you come out of the little square from Os Compadres turn left and both of these are on the left hand side as you walk down the strip, just a minutes walk from Os Compadres. You will pass Mr Menu and Stones Bar, just keeping walking a little bit further. I wonder though if O' Leao is still located in the same place or if its further down the strip. Maybe one of the regular posters can confirm this. Its just I had a feeling I read somewhere that it had moved but am not 100% certain.

O'Leao is still in the same place, just before O'Buzio coming from Os Compadres. the guy Raol what had O'leao a few years ago, upped sticks and moved to another restaurant called Areias which is situated just off the main drag past the taxi rank & Bombay Palace, turn left and its on your right. When Raol had O'leao it was excellent cuisine with attention to detail on meals, and well recommended, but he decided to move and open another restaurant. Must admit since he left have only ever had breakfast at O'Leao which was excellent, but dont know what the rest of the menu is like, obviously its still good as always seems busy when we have passed.

Thank you for this info. I must have read an earlier post about the guy who had the restaurant. So its him that has moved on. I knew one of the regular posters would give the most up to date information.

Thanks again.
