Would like to make a return visit to Malta next January - our favoured hotel the Coastline is only available via Saga so we need an alternative.
We stayed at the Seabank many years ago before it became a Riu and before it was extended. It was ok - we had a sea view room which was quite noisy because of the road and also did not get much sun. I think an inland view might be better. We realise that in January it will be very quiet there but that doesn't bother us too much.
The other possibility might be the Dolmen Resort - very large but maybe not full in January? Good location and good views with a sea view room.
My Mum loves the Santana but don't think this will suit us as we do like to sit on the balcony with a nice view - which if the sun shines is very possible even in January.
We realise that there are some nice 4/5 star hotels in the quieter area of St Julians but they can be quite pricey.
Any suggestions most welcome.
Pippa
Ask for a Balcony sunside and they should help you
We asked for a low floor and are on the ground floor on the corner so only get sun in the morning
We have recently returned from the Algarve and stayed in a gorgeous hotel - our view from the balcony was the sea and beach across the cliff top - no road or noise. Sadly this hotel will not be open during January 2010 - it was barely 10% occupied this year.
We do realise we won't get quite that view in Malta but being surrounded by buildings is certainly a no go for us.
