if you do a search in this forum pamplemouse, you will see that this has been covered before, I stayed there last year and it was really good especially the suites which are self catering and two rooms adjoining eachother.

we stayed at the riviera hotel in ibiza in 1998 and loved it, there was a club practically next door to the hotel, i cannot remember the name, the compere used to start off with kiddies dances and disco then moved onto adult caberet entertainment, please can anyone tell me if it is still there

stayed at this hotel last year and found it to be spotless, the food was awful we were half board but ended up paying to eat out. The Disco/Mardi Gras next door has been pulled down I think they are going to build residential apartments on the land. There are plenty other places for you to take kiddies for entertainment further up the street only a few minutes away.

thank you i could not decide between 2 hotels right next to other (riviera and playa bella) my son has just informed me tonight that he would like to get married there next year so i think we may just opt for playa bella, i need any info on how to go about this wedding thank you

the playabella is in a good location right on the beach, the downside is that there tends to be an awful smell most of the time due there being a sewage pumping station right in front of the hotel on the beach, so in summertime it isnt very nice. the outlook from the hotel however if fab if you get a sea view and theres plenty for the kids to do.

The Riviera which is literally across the road is also very nice especially if you opt to stay in the self catering suites within the hotel, the evening enterntainment is particularly good, almost butlins like. the downside of this hotel is that there tends to be a bit of road noise during the night and from late night revellers

On balance i think i would prefer the playabella for location albeit it a smelly one.

thank you for your reply, i have just been talking to another travel firm today and they have quoted me even cheaper on sol bay in san ant so we may opt for there now and then look on the internet for someone to do a blessing instead of a wedding

We stayed in the Sol Bay this year also very clean apartments maids came every day, Air Conditioning is free and you can leave it on whilst your out which is a blessing in july and august. The pool area is small but perfect as it gets the sun all day and is never to busy. The only down side to this is some of the apartments are above Johnny's bar which means you will be kept awake till the small hours (4am) as they have a resident DJ who is competing with the big clubs, ok if you like that type of music. They do warn you when you arrive and you can change rooms to the quitier side if it bothers you, all in all we enjoyed it there very close to everything and the staff were always very helpful nothing was to much trouble.

Yes, the above poster is right, i stayed there on my own in 2001 and i was right above the main road and restaurants, it was terrible trying to get some sleep on a night!!

Hi
In a random act of madness and the fact that I like sun :cheers Ive booked a 2nd holiday to go to the Riviera apartments. I stayed at the Diana apartments about 8 years ago so know the area a little but not sure if they're close to each other can anyone help ?

Also when I last went it was april and it was very quiet im assuming June will be busier and more things open ?

Also is the Queen Vic still there or has it changed names/ gone now ?

Thanks

Lee

the riviera and diana apartments are on roads running parallel to each other off the cala de bou 'strip' and both are now part of the gps empire. june will be much busier and the queen vic is still there, as dark and uninviting as ever.
