Thanks Gemma, I really hope everything is Ok for him. I know exactly what you mean about him doing 20 different jobs - he just didn't seem to have the confidence to actually stand back and let his staff do their jobs. He was very nervous the last time that we visited - we told him to try to relax and enjoy being the boss but I think he found the whole concept difficult. Fingers crossed everything is OK :wink

Rovin is such a sincere, genuine person, thats whats so nice about him GFF dont you think. He said most of the staff were inexperienced and didnt know what was a starter or a main meal :yikes so he had to be in kitchen a lot to help with meal preparations etc.
We told him we saw lots of folk looking at the menu outside but then walking on, but if he (or another member of staff) was at the door they could probably get the people into the restaurant. But the poor soul is trying to be everywhere at the same time.
Hopefully he can make it a success. Will get back to you once ive text him.

Hi GFF my OH had a text from Rovin asking how we were etc and that all is well. We have text him back to ask if he is ok etc, but havent heard anything again from him.
Do you think he has the sign outside to let folk know that it is under new management from last season. Didnt the place have a bit of a bad name before Rovin took over?

Hi Gemma,
Maybe your right and the blackboard has been there all along......can't say i've noticed it before though :?:, could be that I've never actually taken notice. Anyway next time I pass by I'll have a look to see if I can spot Rovin.

We had a text from Rovin tonight and he had some nice news - his wife is due their first baby on October 9th. Rovin is back in Goa at the moment getting ready for the up and coming season.
We have text him back to find out if he will still be running Sendra's restaurant in Calangute, so will post again once we've heard back from him.
He tried so hard last season to make the restaurant a success, but it was quiet sometimes. The food is gorgeous and the prices are so reasonable. I hope it will be busier for him this year and his business will be a success.

Gemma , we have not tried Sendra's yet , but hopefully will go next March if he reopens :)

Oh yes, please go Shirley he would be so pleased and me makes everyone so welcome. The prices are incredible Its next door to Domino Pizza, so very easy to find. Its amazing the amount of people who go for a meal cos theyve known him from the Oceanic.
I will let you know when he is opening etc.

My OH had a text from Rovin this evening. His wife had a little girl, which is lovely news. Dont have anymore information at the moment and dont want to text as its during the night now in Goa. Only sent back a quick text congratulating them.
Rovin was at Sendras for a week but is now back home with wife (and new baby now) and he is returning to Goa at the end of October for the new season. So he will still be at Sendra's. We have told him to keep us a table and we will pop in for a meal the first night we get there - Sunday 25 November. Cant wait - getting closer now :D
