Hi - Have just booked this place for next year, but can't see much at all on the web about it. One review on this site but it's 3 years ago.............anyone know anything about them?

Have chosen San Agustin as I'm informed that it's quiet, but only 5 minutes from Playa Del Ingles.

We've heard that it's actually owned by Scandinavians and that most of the apts are privately owned.

Any info would be great.
Thanks

We didn't go tp these apts after all, but I did find a review on another site via the following link -

http://www.holidays-uncovered.co.uk/frames.htm

Search under Gran Canaria - San Augustin, and scroll down to near the end, since this site is not as well laid out as HT.
There are a couple of reviews from this year if that is any help, and I have spoken to people(incl my brother in law) who have stayed in San Augustin and liked it

Hope this helps

Hi RJ

Thanks for that info - had a look, actually forgot about that site, I did use it a couple of years back. Quite a few reviews there, and it's mixed, but more on the good side.
Don't ya think this site (Holiday Truths) is really quite just now? Surprising as I usually like to "rely" on it for reviews & photos & stuff.

Thanks again for your help - Have actually booked Rocas Rojas now, but not until October nx yr, so a long time to wait, but it'll be worth it - I HOPE!

I've lived at Rocas Rojas 5 years ago. It was Okay, we had a big apartment, with 2 bedroom and a big livingroom/kitchen ..

We were 6persons and they places us in 2 different bungalows although you could live 6 people in 1 so that was nice !!

The pool area was great, and the whole area was nice !

But it didnt really feel like living as a charter tourist , because a lot of the bungalows are private..

and luckily we lived "close" to the reception, so we ONLY had to walk a couple of 100 m up the hill, and I felt really bad for those who lived further up the hill !!

But it was a good place , the cleaning ladys were really nice, even though they woke us up EVERY morning "CLEANING" , so you couldn't sleep after 10 !!

I hope you all get a great stay at Rocas Rojas ..

There's a review on trip advisor if anyone is interested - in the forum under Gran Canaria - Rocas Rojas. Quite glad I've read it now as it kinda puts your mind at rest if you know what I mean :)

Hello
Going here in October and just read review from someone just back in July - not good at all.............please has anyone else been here lately or heard anything? I am getting a bit worried now. :(
I know that everyone has different standards and what some folks tollerate, others can't but after booking this family holiday back at the beginning of the year, the time is coming nearer and would jsut like to hear a few folks different opions :?
Thanks

Hi Me my hubby and 13 yr old son stayed there in July this year.
The place is nice but i think its a bit out of the way - alot will depend on your location in the complex we were about 5 mins or more walk from reception and even 5 mins walk to the nearest swimming pool which has no snack bar or bar near it.
I wouldnt stay there again due to it being too far from aywhere - even the local San Agustin shopping Centre was 25 mins walk (or 2 Euros ina taxi)

If you go in San Agusting shopping centre i can highly reccommend Toni's Grill for food - Toni and Laura are lovely
Also Pia's Bar is good value too and she and Steve are great too

Ive been going to Gran Canaria for the past 7/8 years or so
please f eel free to send me a private message if you would like more info

Hi Sandi
Thanks for your info about the above - glad I've found someone whose been there recently
We are not really concerned that it is far away from everything - our boys 15 & 17 are quite happy to sit at the pool a lot and luckily they're not into loads of entertainment. My hubby & I don't mind long walks and if taxis are cheap thats good. We will prob hire a car for a few days too - been to tenerife the last couple of years and had a car for a week then, so hopefully it'll be the same type of driving? Yes Mad?!
Would you say the complex is scruffy though? - read all sorts about plagued with ants and it being run down. We are going in a 2 bed aptment. Are they dotted about the place or all together? I read there is a restaurant on the complex and a shop. The other thing was that someone mentioned that the locals come in and use the pools so there's no room for guests - I was hoping that in October the pool area would be quiter?
Any more info or pics about the actual complex would be appreciated!
3 weeks to go!!
Thanks
Lisa
