Me other 'arf has asked me to put this question on!!...Is she hinting, I wonder!!
This'll be our first time in Greece so, we don't know much about the food....and more importantly the WINE!! Tesco doesn't stock Greek wine!
Lindos has so many good reviews and the photos are fab - we can't afford to check out all the restaurants. Small cosy, intimate places if she's nice to me and a karaoke bar if I want to annoy her!!
Thanks!
Ooh, and how do you say in Greek - "Can SHE have the bill please?"
FIN
μπορεισ να της δινεις το λογαριασμος παρακαλω.
Boreis na tis dineis to logariasmo parakalo.
give her the bill please
Rick.
We're off next Wed too - from Manchester - for a week!
Are there any Karaoke bars? I've been threatening to sing 'Please Release Me' by Tom Jones to my other half - after a few bottles of the local grape juice!!
For romantic and intimate you won't find better than Ambrosia in my opinion. It's not a rooftop restaurant but set in an old greek house and courtyard (the owner's old house - he kicked himself out and turned it into a restaurant!). The house special is Sea Bass, filleted at your table but there's a good choice of steaks, chicken and pasta too - all using fresh market produce. If you don't know your wines don't worry, the owner/host George will be more than happy to talk you through the list and help you find the right choice.
You'll find Ambrosia just opposite Giorgos Sports Bar.
Staying in Pefkos 20th september for two weeks, but we want to take a taxi into Lindos for an evening.
Kalypso does have it's fans and the little courtyard and old greek house downstairs are charming but given a choice i'd pick Symposio everytime.
Rick.
Thanks guys Looks like a table for 2 at the Symposio, rooftop view for us
From the square take the main street into Lindos (you'll pass the donkey station and cashpoint on your right).
Carry on down this road and it turns sharply left. After this turn take the first road on your right (just after Lindos Suntours).
Carry on down this road (you'll pass several restaurants and bars including Byzantium, Pals and Red Rose) and Symposio is on the right next to Antika Bar.
Enjoy
Thanks a lot marcus will let you know when we get back.
finbar Tesco DOES stock Greek wine - you can get a Retsina for about £24 for a case! You could also buy Boutari Santorini Dry White at our local store for about £4.95 a bottle.
That Santorini white is a great drink and last time i picked some up at Rhodes Airport it was nearly half the price of Tescos!!
hi agree symposio food is outstanding and was easily my best meal in lindos, i would have been there more often if it hadnt have been for lots of cats around rooftop area. daughter has quite a phobia so not a nice experience, saying that theres not many rooftop resteraunts what dont have the resident moggie, sit on the terrace downstairs enjoy the wonderful food insymposio cheers
Have to agree with the comments on the Symposio.Hope to go back one day soon. The food was fabulous
Had a superb table for 2 right at the front, excellent view of the Acropolis, the food was excellent and the service was very attentive. We had a great evening.
You sure do know Lindos very well Marcus the directions you gave were spot on.
Thankyou for the recommendation.
