To be honest Finbar I don't think there are what I would describe as intimate restaurants in Lindos it's quite a busy place but I'm sure there'll be a few who'll post to say I'm wrong and point some places out but sitting on a rooftop restaurant with a superb view of the acropolis all lit up is quite a romantic setting by anyones standards.Looking forward to going out there next wednesday the 30th myself. You'll have a great time believe me.

We're off next Wed too - from Manchester - for a week!

Are there any Karaoke bars? I've been threatening to sing 'Please Release Me' by Tom Jones to my other half - after a few bottles of the local grape juice!!

No karaoke bars i'm afraid - well actually i'm glad, it saves my precious ears!! They do have a Karaoke Night at Lindos Gardens and i'm guessing some of the other places up there like Lindos View might do similar.

For romantic and intimate you won't find better than Ambrosia in my opinion. It's not a rooftop restaurant but set in an old greek house and courtyard (the owner's old house - he kicked himself out and turned it into a restaurant!). The house special is Sea Bass, filleted at your table but there's a good choice of steaks, chicken and pasta too - all using fresh market produce. If you don't know your wines don't worry, the owner/host George will be more than happy to talk you through the list and help you find the right choice.

You'll find Ambrosia just opposite Giorgos Sports Bar.

Staying in Pefkos 20th september for two weeks, but we want to take a taxi into Lindos for an evening.

Anyone any thoughts on Symposio and Kalypso in Lindos I found them here. Visited Lindos during the day two years ago but like fin looking for a rooftop / romantic venue to eat in the evening. Anyone have any favourites in Lindos they would like to share with us?

Thanks

I've tried both and i'd say Symposio is the better of the two - we prefer to sit on the small front terrace rather than the rooftop (good for people watching!).
Kalypso does have it's fans and the little courtyard and old greek house downstairs are charming but given a choice i'd pick Symposio everytime. :D

Symposio is a big favourite of mine too, but I prefer on the roof, that will be our first port of call next wednesday night, hope michael the waiter and his sister are still working there very nice people and make you very welcome,I'll give the ambrosia a try never seen that place before.Written that on my list of places to try.

No probs-

From the square take the main street into Lindos (you'll pass the donkey station and cashpoint on your right).

Carry on down this road and it turns sharply left. After this turn take the first road on your right (just after Lindos Suntours).

Carry on down this road (you'll pass several restaurants and bars including Byzantium, Pals and Red Rose) and Symposio is on the right next to Antika Bar.

Enjoy :D

finbar Tesco DOES stock Greek wine - you can get a Retsina for about £24 for a case! You could also buy Boutari Santorini Dry White at our local store for about £4.95 a bottle.

That Santorini white is a great drink and last time i picked some up at Rhodes Airport it was nearly half the price of Tescos!!

Hi Marcuschap just to let you know we visited Symposio sunday last (1st Oct) would have been the previous one but a power failure in both Pefkos and Lindos at about 6pm put paid to that.

Had a superb table for 2 right at the front, excellent view of the Acropolis, the food was excellent and the service was very attentive. We had a great evening.

You sure do know Lindos very well Marcus the directions you gave were spot on.

Thankyou for the recommendation.
