Carnac to Quiberon can be anything from 25 minutes to 1 1/2 hours depending on traffic AND trains

The surfing beach (Cote Savage) is awesome and there are a lot of windsurfers and kite surfers there too and when the tides out sand yachts
the other side of the peninsula is the Cote Opale and all you can see is Oyster beds

The entertainment on Carnac beach is varied but the mime artists seem to be the most common ones

Hi Lads,

Sorry to jump in on the thread but we're all off to Les Menhirs in September and I have a few questions. I've 2 boys aged 2 and 4, but I see from the brochure (didnt see it before I booked) that the water slides are for over 8 (or could be even older). Is this strictly enforced (not that I'd let them up by themselves but I'd like to take them up with me)? How far is Carnac from Carnac Plage? One other one, we've heard that the food isnt great in Carnac Plage, any recommendations on where to eat?

Thanks
Jack

Carnac Plage is joined onto Carnac and we walked several times from the campsite into the centre of Carnac (it only takes 5-10 minutes). The food in Carnac and Carnac Plage is catering for tourists so it's almost all steaks, pizzas, etc. We ate out 2 or 3 times and found the quality of food to be good. The Pizzas in La Terasse (which is less than 5 minutes walk from the site on the road into the centre of Carnac Plage) were great and it was very child friendly (we also got a carryout from there the last night). Hubbie went to watch the World Cup semifinal with another guy we had met and they went to a bar called Baobab. We didn't eat there but apparently the steaks and burgers there are very good. The other guy was in Carnac for the 4th time and they always went there for a meal. Most of the eateries are in Carnac Plage. We also had moules frites in La Transat whilst watching the World Cup final on the screen in the pub next door. The full menu looked great but we had already eaten as we weren't sure where we would end up to watch the footie.
There are 3 water slides on the site - one in the baby pool and 2 others. I wouldn't recommend the 2 bigger slides for little ones as they are both very fast and one is very high. I wasn't aware of anyone policing who was going on them though.

Hello just returned last nite, had a good time, but the weather wasn't very good!! cloudy, wet, windy but when the sun ocasionally broke through it was quite warm!! les menhirs is a tidy campsite,it took us 2 and half ours to get ther from roscoff, thats abiding by the speed limit!! 5 minute walk to the beach,5 minutes the other way to the restaurants!we didn't eat out so cant coment! but ther was a good selection.the swiming pools were good,my 6 year old was using the slides, and they were letting the adults go down with children under supervision.
