I recently booked a cruise via broadway travel on royal caribean navigator of the seas to the Baltic.
i had paid in full comleted all forms including details of my wife's mobility scooter to go on board.
all was fine until I received a call from broadway travel on the Friday afternoon at 2.30 to say royal caribean had over booked our cruise and we are not booked on it.
you can imagine how I I felt and than at to tell my wife.
getting ready for a holiday can be stressful at the best of times but a day and half before you go and no way of getting the cost back of the holiday to book another.
after calling royal caribean who were unhelpful and said I need to go via broadway who said I should contact rc
this overbooking on cruises is not a one off it is common so if anyone drops out they already have it filled and you would never know until it is over booked.
We had spent out on the holiday parking and tours in Russia
We have had a refund now of the holiday cost but still have nit had any refund of parking and tours money and money did not even try for my wife's evening clothes she had bought especially for the evening time.
i have had no letter of apogly from either broadway travel or from royal caribean
think hard when you book with both sides f these companies and make sure you have it in blood that you are a confirmed booking and not a fully paid up reserve
when I returned I had an email from both broadway and royal caribean to ask had I enjoyed the cruise and also royal caribean also confirmed my on board tab was owing £0.00
That is dreadful- so they didn't offer even a discount on another cruise? What about your insurance- no cover for trips booked?
You should have been offered either a full refund of your lost cruise including any shore excursions (assuming these were booked through the ship) or the possibility of another cruise at a similar value to your original one and possibly a nice discount off your next cruise with them as a gesture of goodwill.
Go back to your travel agent and demand answers and please let us know what happens.
