St Hilare is part of a 2 town complex. St Hilare is on one side of the river and St Gilles Croix de Vie is on the other. St Hilare then occupies the cliffs to the north of the river until you get to the really long beaches. It is about a 30 minute drive to St Jean De Monts to the North. I have not stayed in St Hilaire itself but have camped just a few minutes down the coast at La page.

Hi,

We stayed in ST H this year and really enjoyed it.

Scala pizzeria in st jean de monts does great pizza's and a 13€ lunch menu.

Good restaurants in st giles de croix

Beaches fab.

Not a lot to do if it rains but a day to the island they go (sorry name escapes me) to from ST h is worth a visit so we heard

market at Challans (tuesday) really good)

If you want to drive out for the day the futuroscope is a day out and Puy DE Fou.

La Rochelle is about2 1/2 drive away.
