I have found the website forSamira hotel and apartments in Kalkan but can anybody tell me if there is a website for Samira deluxe or sometimes called the Samira II
I have booked with A1 travel to got to the Samira deluxe on the 6th of August for two weeks. For the past 5 years we have gone to Ovacik in small family run hotel but wanted a change and opted for Kalkan.
I have read all the reviews and it sound superb but would like to chat to anybody who has been to the Samira deluxe or Kalkan.
If you go on Hotel Reviews you will find your Hotel under the heading Samira Hotel and Apartments. We were looking to go to these but because we are a couple we were being charged under occupancy which would have made for an expensive holiday which is why we are going back to Hotel Nur in Kalkan.
If you scroll back to Feb 2nd you will locate the Kalkan Discussion and you will see my Restaurant recommendations as well as things to do and places to go. On the subject of Samira, it has its own Restaurant called Bosphorus whereby we had an excellent meal. On a saturday night they have a Turkish Night which is well worth going to. Hope you enjoy Kalkan as much as we did but please remember that Kalkan is NOT a place for anyone with walking difficulties.

Thanks for your reply Cruisecontroller is the resort more expensive than Ovacik/hisaronu area?
Compared to Icmeler(which we love very much), we found Kalkan so much cheaper. If you go over the roundabout towards the weekly market you come to Ali Babas(we ate here 3 times), then there is Adams next door and a little further up is Shanghai Chinese but they do other dishes as well and the set menu is not very set as you can choose what you like !! Going towards town you are only 100 yards from the closest bar and nice, easy staggering distance but turn the corner at Sun Terrace and you could have a problem, especially if you go down to Marina Restaurant !!!!
Samira Deluxe and Samira II are very separate Hotels and you most certainly would not fancy staggering to Samira II as it is on the outskirts of town and it is up hill all the way, hence the need for a taxi. Our Hotel is another 50 yards up the hill from Shanghai Chinese on the left hand side, it has a rooftop restaurant called Barbaros with a lovely view over Kalkan. Before you get to Hotel Nur/Barbaros Restaurant, on the left, there is a new shop complex, to the rear of this is Atlantis Wellness Traditional Turkish Bath. Hope this has answered some of your questions.

What about supermarkets like Migros or Gima are there any near by.
Migros in Kas
While we were there, May last year, we found that the best place for money exchange was the Post Office, this is located on the left, up some steps on the main drag in to town, again within 100 yards.

What about ATM's?
There were two ATM's in Kalkan when I visited last year. One by the Samira hotel and the other a little further into town near the post office. Their reliability has been an issue in the past.
Also people have mention beach clubs what are they?
http://www.kalkanturkey.com Lots of info on this site.
Have a look at
Beach Clubs are places with swimming platforms, bar and food and sunbed facilities. If you go to the Kalkan discussion forum of which the last post was on Feb 2nd you will see i've recommended a superb beach which is in the National Park, a short dolmus ride away.
Cruise controller - correct me if I'm wrong but isnt the Samira deluxe the same as Samira II ie up the hill whereas the one nearer town is the Samira hotel and appartments?
That's right cardi. We stayed at the Samira Hotel (in an apartment) last Summer. It was wonderful, I can't recommend it highly enough.
Thank you for correcting me, i've just been on the Thomson website to confirm. My apologies to ICF, I was in the firm belief I was correct and so ICF, it means that it will be a taxi back to your Hotel instead of a short stagger !!!!!!!!! Having said that, it is said that exercise is good for you and so you could stagger off the Efes haze and then start again when you get back to the Hotel !!!! On top of this, Kalkan is a fabulous place and the people are simply the best.

No need to apologies to me
If you have a look at the Kalkan album in the photo gallery I have added a picture looking across to the Samira deluxe from our roof top terrace. The building in the middle is the new bus station and the hotel is behind and to the right of that. As you can see it is nowhere as steep a climb as to some of the villas above the petrol station.
Sorry it's not clear to me the buildings your talking about.Which building is the bus station?
The new bus station is the biggish building in the centre of the picture. My villa can just about be seen, across the road from the bus station.
