We stayed in Perissa and couldn't fault it. Look at Kosmar Holiday Brochure, a Hotel called Smaragdi Village, it has its own website, give it a whirl. The Hosts at this Hotel are simply the best. They put on a superb Greek Night every Saturday, which is open to people from other Hotels(Book in advance). Buses run on a regular basis and so transport to Thira is no problem.

Thanks for reply, we usually go Kosmar nothing available when we want to go, and Olympic flights are great times. There were Sandy Villa these have some basements rooms, not so sure about them.Dollitsa Apartments also.

Hi. A group of six of us are going to Kamari in August. Really looking forward to the holiday. We've never been to Santorini before, although between us we've been to several other Greek Islands. From what I understand Perissa and Kamari seem to be the most popular resorts unless you want to stay in the more upmarket (and more expensive) resorts on the caldera side of the island, namely Oia and Fira. It seems you pay for the fantastic views. We opted to stay in Kamari as it's relatively easy to visit Fira and Oia for a few hours to see the sights and sunset.

Kamari is a good base - but it all depends on what sort of resort you like. There are some very good restaurants in Kamari - but the beach is not mixtureof boulders at one end and pebbles at the other. We went in August 05 and it wasn't too busy.
