We've all probably been guilty of taking hotel toiletries, but is telling "porkies" to a hotel acceptable?
Relatives are off on holiday very soon, to a resort where most of the hotels provide a welcome gift, usually fruit and water/wine. Whilst checking location of their rooms, they advised the hotel they would be celebrating their anniversary, which is untrue. Not a good example to set to the children in the party.
I've stayed in the same resort many times and always enjoyed the welcome gift, which extended to a bottle of bubbly when staying as a repeat guest. Even if celebrating a birthday whilst on holiday I don't broadcast it. Perhaps I'm too honest......
I do take away the little bottles of shower cream or shampoo from the room though!
Dunno about scrounging, but armed with a screwdriver i could usually get free air con in my mobile home holidays in Spain .....
I'm guilty, in the past when staying in hotels, of saying it's our wedding anniversary. Not for free cheap wine though, it was in the hope of getting a room with a decent view.
