well our anniversary is in sept, the beginning of
8 years married and 10 years together...........

i wanted to get away and celebrate the occasion, but we are having mixed thoughts of where.
turkey, morocco, ???? but dont want commercial..........dont want spain, or macdonalds, kfc, english bars and sports bars and english loud larger mouths and it like blackpool on a hotday!!

thought we might save ourselves and get a cheapy instead, and go all out wallop to maldives/dubai (fuijairah) in early march 2009!!!!!

if that isnt an option to save your honeymoon, then
try OLU deniz in turkey, lovely place. hot!!!
or cyprus, we got married there!!! HOT
or Dubai, think the place is great, and hot and no rain. or try Oman or Fuijairah
or egypt? all hot and no rain

Symi. Fly to Rhodes, then ferry. The Town and harbour are protected all round and so it is usually 5 C warmer than Rhodes.

shirleyV beat me to it; Mauritius is lovely that time of year (around 80 degrees). Sept is the driest month and it was lovely when I was over there last September. You've also got the Maldives and the Far East. If you don't want a long flight, then Turkey, Cyprus and the Greek Islands are lovely at that time of year. It depends what else you want during your stay, other than a blue sky. Lots to choose from!

Now, your honeymoon...
If you don't want to fly long haul, I would recommend the Algarve, Portugal.

We were there last year from 13th - 27th September and the weather was fantastic!
(Certainly comparable to July temperatures)

Have you thought about doing a Mediterranean Cruise. We got married in October and did that. The weather was superb

Pooks, congrats! We get married in September, too. We are going to a privately rented apartment in Mallorca near Cala D'Or. We have been to Mallorca before at this time and it was hot and pleasant. Good luck

Santorini or venice maybe?

Congrats Pooks on your forthcoming wedding. Me and my OH are getting married at the end of Aug and are going back to Cyprus for 2 weeks, and the weather in Sept is normally roasting hot. The hotter the better for me!

I would definitely recommend Cyprus. My 10th visit to Cyprus since Feb 2000.

I think we are going to look at Hawaii but also looking at Santorini because we figured we could get a top notch hotel out there whilst we probably wouldn't be able to afford a top notch in Hawaii!
