The hotel itself is split into 2,the hotel and the surrounding resort, each bit has its own restaurant and reception area but all the other facilities are shared. I was a bit miffed because I thought we were staying in the hotel but when we got there we were actually in the resort.
The grounds are massive and we were in a great bungalow with fantastic sea views, we had a pool 50 yards to our left and another 50 yards to our right.
The hotel is situated on the El Pasha coast, just north of The Gardens dive sites. There is a floating jetty out to the coral reef and the snorkeling is good (I go to Sharm twice a year for the snorkeling, we are going next week and staying at the Hyatt Regency, hurrah!!!!)
Hope you have a fantastic time , ask me anything you want,
Love SB XXX
Thanks for the reply.
We're not keen on fast food are there restaurants in town or is it best to stick to hotels
Can you tell us how far the Sheraton is from the centre of town(or at least the main eating areas) and are taxis easy to get at the hotel.
Are there other hotels near the Sheraton
Hello
fisrt time to egypt for me and my husband,we are going to the sheraton hotel in sharm el sheik please can someone tell us what it is like , also will they have cloths hangers there silly question i know
BUT The Sheraton Sharm Restort & Spa was beautiful and I maintain I will go back there.
Snorkelling is always available, but save some money and buy the gear before you go.
There are so many things to do there a week isn't long enough. You can buy anything on site, sun lotion, clothes, scarves for quad biking, sunglasses, medicine from the on site pharmacy - take immodium and an anti-inflammatory like piriton or clarytin as they are expensive.
We had a week there and still didn't go to all the restaurants on site!! The spa is gorgeous and there is a gym.
Basically you don't need to leave the resort!
My advice, take a travel kettle and tea n coffee these facilities weren't provided in most rooms. There were coat hangers and a hairdryer in our room but only about 15 hangers.
The pools are lovely and the staff are very nice and don't put their hands out for a tip.
U must try quad biking, snorkelling at Ras Mohammed, go see the Pyramids and Luxor with via your operator.
Try and avoid the offer or Dolphin Shows and swimming with them - another post already explaining why and AVOID blue and White peugeot tax's they are not safe at all. Sheraton Sharm have a lovely shuttle service into Naama bay throughout the day and night so try and use that as often as poss but book it early via reception. Naama Bay is 15 mins by taxi - read up and what to expect there!
You could walk around this resort at 3.am and wouldn't have any problems it appeared very safe.
The hotel food was lovely and room service food choice was brilliant! Another tip as I was ill I ordered the Happy Smiley Pizza Face which was a childs size as I didn't think I would manage a large one - this was adequate for an adult! Hugo's Chicken Shack on the beach served lovely food and snacks during the day too.
Night entertainment was ok (but we aren't into hotel entertainment so we didn't check it out), but we could hear it sometimes and the atmosphere sounded really nice.
Have a wonderful time and report when you get back!
Hope all that helps!

Thank you so much for all the information!!
the sheraton hotel what a place, we thought we had walked in to a palace so grand. the place was potless , people cleaning all the time , the staff were so friendly and could not have been more helpfull. the only draw back was the lack of entertainment but that was not there fault. but we soon made friends and made our own fun.we would really like to go back there again .
Glad to here that you had a good holiday. How far is the hotel from naama bay and is the food expensive there?
clueless
hi clueless the hotel was only 6-7 mins by taxi to namma bay from our hotel, cost about 420 egyption pounds £4.20 each way our money. even used the blue and whites not as bad as we were led to believe. we only eat out twice as we were h/b ,but it was not to expensie, cheapes meal we had was a macdonelds to big macs for £4.50 our money and large more like xxlarge filled us up for the night any think eles i can help you with just ask pat
Did you go on any excursions and how much did they cost? I have read that the beach is man made, is the snad hard? I can't wait!!!
thank you!
hi clueless we did go on some excurstions some through our rep (thomes cook) otheres through the hotel it self. we did the two day trip to cairo by coach very tough going but well worth it, the pyramids were huge ,the sphinx awsome the oldes market in cairo , be preperd to be bombarded as so as you walk in , and the museum is a must we also did the finding nemo boat trip and the safari jeep trip. the parasailing we did through the hotel and quad biking. the trips through the rep cost about £400 the quad biking cost about £25 and the parasailing cost about £26 ,this is a rough guide i hope it helps you pat
I was really pleased that food and drink in the hotel was so reasonable (1.25 for a large bottle of water) even room service was good value although I thought the quality of the food was very poor and I am sure the only times I was unwell was when I had eaten in the hotel, although obvioulsy i couldnt be sure.
Taxi from the hotel to Naama bay took 5 minutes and we never paid more than 30 egL. Be prepared to haggle and just dont give them any more. they will never turn you away.
Since the bombings they have stepped up security in a big way but that just helped you feel more at ease and was really no hassle at all.
I live in Cyprus so am used to a holiday resort but I must say that I was really happy with the place and the people and would not hesitate to go back. In fact am considering going for the weekend as it is so close. I flew with Egypt air and was really pleased with them too. The flight is just over an hour so they cant do too much wrong!!
Fabulous snorkling as everyone says but looked for Nemo and couldnt find him unfortunately!

The best thing in Sharm is that you have the choice. If you want a "posh" restaurant it is there but expect to pay a little more but nothing like the prices at home. If you want a cheap meal there are loads of places too so just look around.
hope this helps.

Is it possible to book directly with the hotel to get one of their cars to pick us up at the airport rather than try getting a taxi ?
Has anyone used the diving school that is on site at the hotel ?
Has anyone used the spa facilities at the hotel.
Have had all recommended injections, read up on topics about tummy upsets and airport/visa queue etc. Am still just a little nervous as we have not booked a package with tour operator but sorted flights and hotel ourselves.
Thanks
