just come back from centre parcs sherwood on friday, so thought I would let you know whats going on.
the new water ride is due to open june or july now.ther's lots of work going on, they're using noisy machinary at the moment, so when you're in the swiming pool it is quite noisy. they are also doing up alot of the villas so there is work evadent all over the village however disruption is at a minimum.
not sure if its coz of all the work but when we got to our villa we had a box of dairy milk chocs and a bottle of wine, which i thought was a really nice touch.
just a couple of tips
we went into nottingham first on monday morning and didnt get to the village untill about 4:30pm and there was no traffic what so ever, not many cars around by then.
if you like a nice entertaining evening then the sherwood feast is a must, the actors are fab and the dinner was ok (pea soup, sausage,potatoes,chicken,veg and apple crumble), and the kids get to have their pics taken with all the characters.
all in all we had a fab time, villlas are looking a bit outdated now,but the facilities and the village square are fab.

I agree that the villas are badly in need of refurbishment, but alot have been done now.
Last time we went I asked for a refurbished villa and they are lovely. They are also creating a comfort plus grade now that has the welcome addition of a dishwasher and I've booked one of those for New Year.
The reservation staff have info on completion dates etc so you can ask them when you book.

we went to sherwood 2 years ago. we always go to elveden as its nearer to us and there doesn't seem to be a lot of difference in each parc.
we chose sherwood as it was a holiday just for my hubby and me ( my daughter was fine abut us going away without her until we told her we were going to center parcs! ). we had the PENTHOUSE VILLA. if you can afford it and can book it i would highly recommend it to any couple. there are only 2 such villas which made it a bit special. it had its own sauna and had a hugh jacuzzi bath big enough to have a party in.
