Well there are two being built in the Oasis del Sur area, there are units around the perimeter of El Mirador which is situated just in front of Royal Palm, also a new shopping centre facing El Mirador called something like Passarella Oasis? A lot of bars and restaurants are now opening on the El Mirador one, although when I was last there some units had "to rent" signs on. The shopping centre started opening up then work suddenly stopped again but I would imagine there are still units available on there as well. Good luck if you choose to open one. :D

Thanks for the reply.

I wish i was in a position to open a business in Tenerife but unfortunately for me the enquiry was purely from a tourist point of view.

We have been offered an apartment in the Royal palm resort and i wanted to find out if it had many bars and shops in the immediate area. I do like the look of your apartment, and might be in touch in the not to distant future about renting it as we like the idea of having an apartment rather than a hotel.

Meanwhile, could you tell me what the Royal palm is like (without being to bias!)

Regards

Dave

Royal Palm and Port Royale are very similar, both built by the same builder who built Beverly Hills and Hollywood Mirage timeshare. Port Royale is behind Royal Palm so there is a bit more hill to go up! but lovely views and both complexes have good communities that keep them well maintained.
We know the whole area very well as had a timeshare at Bev Hills for many years before buying 8 years ago and it just suits us fine. The whole Oasis del Sur area is very nice, new property just been built at both El Mirador and Dinastia so more and more bars, restaurants etc without having to go into town, but you can still sleep at night. We love it up there anyway, just depends what you want from your holiday I guess. If we want the nightlife we walk into town and taxi back - no probs.

Nice development. It opened around 1988/89 but it is well maintained and doesn't look that old. There are two pools. Rosie's Cantina (Mexican restaurant - surprise, surprise) is on the complex.

It's very rarely 'packed out', but there's always people around but they are never 'in your face'. Quite upmarket.

Beverley Hills (timeshare) is just across the road too, so you can use their bars, entertainments and social facilities ... although obviously you won't get Beverley Hills members prices on the tennis courts, bowling, squash courts etc (unless you make friends with someone that is staying there :) )

I'm off to the dinastia complex in july, having previously stayed at the hollywood mirage/beverly hill heights and the beverley hill club.

Looking forward to seeing the new shopping complex for the bars and restaurants for sure, not to interested in the shops. All the same in my opinion.

One restaurant you should all check out is the El Brasero, they have Lamb on the menu to die for.

If you come down the hill from the dinastia apts you come to a junction/roundabout, turn right has if you were heading into town and and on your right approx 200 yds there is the smallest of a restaurant in white, thats the one.

Fantastic, we land on the 14 july and thats where me and my family will be, been going in there for years and still has good has ever.
