Can anyone tell me if there are shops near cristina apartments in cala millor where i could buy some full fat cows milk for my babies. They will need the milk that night at bed time and also first thing in the morning. We wont arrive til about 9pm so im thinking maybe its too late.
Ive emailed the apartments to ask them if they would provide a small carton for me but its a long shot.
What do you think? Any ideas on how i can get the milk?
Most of the shops, supermarkets etc will close around 22.00 hours. Suggestion, put a carton of milk in your suitcase for if you have a late arrival!
Thanks Peter, i have thought of that but wont it go "off" being out of the fridge for so long and in a stuffy hot bus too??? Wouldnt want to make my babies ill on the 1st day. I a bit of a milk freak and hate milk thats not freezing cold...
I know it's not ideal but what about a carton of longlife milk? Otherwise only suggestion would be normal carton but put it into a small cool bag and put freezer blocks in it to keep them cool.
its sorted, apartments do a pack for late arrivals which include milk/water/bread/butter/ham/cheese/beans... perfect for us!! Cristina Apartments... seem very accomodating so far!! cant wait now! a week today and ill be on the plane!
Ahhhh, glad they were able to sort things for you. Good idea about the pack, will save you hassle all round.
The Cristina do indeed provide welcome packs which are a blessing for late arrivals. The shops around the resort do open late, but not something you want to be doing on your first night. We have visited the Cristina for the last two years on the trot and regret deeply not going back this year but thats for another forum For the rest of the holiday, the best supermarket is the one just up from the "horse & cart" stop which was always reasonably priced. There is also a Lidl nearby (about 15-20 min walk but would recommend a taxi back ). The onsite supermarket [at the Cristina] was good for bread/rolls on a morning, but the prices were a little steep. Have a brilliant holiday.
The best supermarket mentioned in the previous post is the Eroski. There is another one just up from the tourist info office in Cala Millor - might still be signposted Caprabo. Next door to Eroski is a shop called Schlecker(s) which sells baby stuff, toiletries and the like - prices are VERY reasonable.
thats great thanks. have to remember horse and cart lol. thats us packed and ready to go tomorrow!
Hope I haven't missed you....have a FAB holiday!
Cheers - John
aircon is free from 7pm to midnight, its 4 euros a day to keep it on all the time.
there is a football pitch.
It was great, we had a family who thought they owned the place but hopefully they will be gone when you get there!
airport is chaos tho.
Glad you had a great time...why was the airport chaos? Hopefully no more chaos than usual
At the airport we were in gates 6-10, we picked the slowest moving line and were just about the last families to check in. Still at check in at 1045am for an 1115am flight. We stood in that queue for an hour and a half. Rushed through security, by then it was 11am, no time to change babies nappies, go to the loo, visit the shops or get breakfast, all what we planned to do.
Called to board at the gate and had to run all the way (it was a long way) and just made it to the plane at 1115am, when we were supposed to be departing. Needless to say, the plane missed its slot and we didnt take off til nearly an hour later.
Our last day was ruined because of us not getting on our bus in time (no rep in sight) and a very slow check in procedure.
I have a few complaints to make to thomsons too. Our balcony wasnt safe and had to pay to upgrade to an apartement with a safe balcony, didnt know it was up a hill (never mentioned in the brochure), favouritism towards certain hotel guests (although thats not thomsons fault) and obviously the lack of reps to sort out the bus mess.
But we did have a great time!
