We just returned yesterday and we had a lovely holiday. The hotel is family run and the bar waitress Alexandra speaks very good english as does the receptionist zula. Breakfast can be a bit of a hard choice asthey just bring a plate with egg beans toast butter jam and maderia cake cheese and ham so you have to pick through it.
Roda is a very small resort but lots of resturants and bars the hotel is on the main street there is a small street opposite which takes you down to a lovely sandy beach.

Thanks for that - really glad to hear you had a good time there - especially as we have now booked the holiday just at lunchtime today. Cheers. Would like to hear any more comments you might have.

One thing I will say they keep all drinks at the bar including cidar but a mythos (there own beer) shandy at lunch time after a swim is lovely. Take plenty of mossie protection as we were eaten alive.

Thanks for the info. I am freaking out a bit now as I have read several reviews of the hotel and some are not very favourable to say the least. I have read of dirty bedding and the smell of human excrement in the room that one person stayed in. Anything you could say to alleviate my despair would be welcome. Also I have read that the higher floors are better than the lower ones. Would you say that was true?

We were on the 2nd floor and the beds did get changed once but maybe only because I was not very well and was sick. But as for smell we could not say this as our room was washed every day the towels were changed middle of the week but no maid service on Sunday. Be prepared for very hard beds though. The hotel has been recently all painted over the winter time and we got friendly with another couple who was on the ground floor and they also had no complaints about their room.

We returned from Silver Beach Roda on Monday and have to say fears about the state of the bathroom were confirmed. We expect everything to be basic in Greece but shower was hanging off wall and toilet was really awful with big build up of filth which we did our best to improve by using 2 bottles of bleach. We would never return to this hotel for this reason. The staff are friendly and the location of the hotel is good although we didn't use the pool which is right at the front of the hotel by the road but used the one next door at Alexandros Apartments which is much better and they do nice food there too.

Loved Roda though, had great weather and would definitely return - just not to the Silver Beach.

didn't stay at this hotel - but there is a baers shop right opposite that has a 'guest book' that people can write their experiences of Roda in - have to say that a lot of the book was taken up with complaints about this hotel. However it's best to be prepared and expect the worst and you may be suprised. After all, it's only somewhere to sleep, as there's plenty of places to go during the da. I would agree and use the Alexandros Pool - much better as it's in a quieter location and away from the main road - We spent most of our time there - Anna and Angelo who own are are wonderful. Road is a fantastic place and one of the friendliest resorts I've ever been to - even if your accomodation isn't top class, I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time.
