Hello. It is true about the construction but i'm not sure that you should let that put you off. We got back from the Silver Sands last week. We arrived there in the middle of the night so were blissfully unaware of the building works as our travel agent failed to mention it. It was an incredibly hot night so we went to bed with the balcony door wide open. We were then rudely awoken at 7am the next morning by full on banging and looked out the door to find above mentioned construction in full swing. I was devastated and thought it was going to ruin our holiday but it really didn't. The next night before we went to bed we blasted the air conditioning (which is excellent by the way) to cool the room down and slept with the door closed. Problem solved pretty much. Yeah we did hear it now and again but only when we were stirring to get up anyway. If it really had bothered us we would of asked to have been moved to the other side of the hotel but it really wasn't that bad. The construction is right across the road from one side of the hotel but apart from that the Silver Sands is in the perfect location in Protaras and if you changed you could end up anywhere. We enjoyed it so much that I have just booked to go back to the Silver Sands in September so obviously it hasn't put us off. I have however requested that we are in an odd numbered room next time as it is the even numbered side of the hotel that the construction is on. I hope this helps. Enjoy!
