Growl...just found out that NEITHER of my two mobile phones will work in Siem Reap, Cambodia. O2 has no coverage - Orange has BUT only contract phones and I have PAYG!
Does anyone know if its possible to purchase a SIM card while in Siem Reap - and if so - roughly how much?
You can buy a sim but I dont know the cost, I would think it will be quite cheap. We were talking to a bar owner from Sihanoukville while we were in Phuket and he said that was the best thing to do as we had to phone from a internet cafe when we were in Sihanoukville because as you say no signal and there were very few public phone's around although there is probably more in Siem Reap. We've kept an old phone for that purpose incase it has to be unlocked as we did feel quite cut off.
I'll take both mobiles with me but I do know the Orange mobile IS unlocked.
Technology!
I've been having a trawl about and THINK Sim card is in region of about 10$ (£6 something?)
