My lovely little sister is a rep in Skala so be sure to be nice to your rep - it may just be her!

There aren't any bad bars/restaurants in Skala really but Veto is the main bar/night spot and there's scandi's opposite which even has dancing!

All the restaurants along the main street are lovely and there's one on the front which is a bit more upmarket and supposedly worth the extra cost.

There's no formal activities for kids but if he's happy on the beach and I'm sure he'll meet some kids his own age and it's perfectly safe for them to mooch about!

Hope this helps a bit - and enjoy, I'm very jealous!

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I am always nice to the reps :D You never know when you might need one  Dont suppose you know how easy/how long it takes to get to Ithica and Zante from Kefalonia? One more sleep and we will be there :hyper

Hi I don't know your hotel but I've been to Skala. We went last year in May (very early season). The weather wasn't too bad, a little chilly in the evening but by day very nice and got a nice tan. Water  Pool and Sea freezing, but as I say it was in May.

The beach is a mixture of sand and shingle, lovely clear water. The resort itself is quiet, laid back. A smattering of tavernas, a few tourist shops and a few supermarkets. There are also a few tour/car hire shops. We hired a car and went off around the island, we also did an island tour on a coach which was nice.

Lovely resort for couples but not enough there for us, we found it a bit quiet.

Thanks for that Sarah
Skala sounds perfect for us as we prefer quieter more civilised resorts
anyway.
are there just greek Tavernas and restaurants or does Skala cater for a wider variety of tastes?

Hi, Pines isn`t a bad place to eat, also Pines 2, down on the beach. There`s an outdoor restaurant on the seafront with a swimming pool for the use of customers, and they have a large screen and show films after dark. The beach at Skala is OK, but just a bit gritty, a few minutes drive away is Mounda beach, lovely golden sand. Sorry, don`t know the hotel.

There's a chinese which is OK but not great and a very good Italian, but I can't remember the name of it for the life of me - I think it's next door to the chinese. I can find out the name.

Otherwise just fairly standard greek fare with pizza and pasta available too.
